I think you can use CopyTrans or iExplore.
If you want to recover data then can try iTunes Backup
Extractorhttp://www.myjad.com/itunes-backup-extractor.html
.
Good luck!

Hi Pablo
When you get your 5S, during setup just use the apple ID you used for your
iPhone 4. Then restore your iPhone 4 through iTunes, and during setup choose
restore as new device. Then it will be clean and you can give it to your
friend.

OK? Anyways, I also wanted to suggest that you may have to set up

Hi Pablo,

Maybe Ed somehow overlooked the line that your 5S is coming anyways,
anyhow,
I think I understand what you need to do.
You are getting the 5S as your personal phone and want to get rid of your
iPhone 4 and transfer all content to your new 5S, right?

Just to get this out of the way: when you receive your 5S, make sure the
first thing you do after turning it on is to press the home key 3 times.
This will start Voiceover. I actually recommend you do all the stuff
below
first as far as backing up your iPhone 4, then when you are ready to set
up
your iPhone 5S, just connect it to your computer and iTunes. Don't touch
anything, just take it out of the box, take off the plastic front and
back
protectors and plug in the Lightning cable, then wait. Plugging it in
will
turn it on and there will be a double vibrate once it's booted up. Wait
another 10 or so seconds after that to make sure it's ready, then press
the
home key 3 times and Voiceover will come on. You then have to choose your
language, your country, join your WiFi, enter your Apple Id, opt into
iMessage, Facetime and iCloud, turn on Find my iPhone, set up Touch ID
etc.
This might be in slightly different order, but it's close. When you set
up
Touch ID make sure you put just one finger on the home button and do it
as
many times as it asks for it. Do it by slightly rotating your finger and
by
putting different parts on it, just the tip, the sides, a bit further
back
etc. Once it took about 10 or 12 readings it should tell you that it's
ready
and later on you can go to Settings, General, Passcode and Fingerprint
and
set up more fingers. You will also have to choose a 4-digit passcode and
remember that if you ever turn off your phone or reboot it, you will have

to
enter your passcode the first time, only after that will Touch ID work to
unlock your phone.
It is also quite likely that after the setup process finishes you will be
told that there is an iOS update since my phone had only iOS 7.0 on it
and
before I did anything else I installed the iOS 7.02 update.
I also believe that the high quality voice does not download
automatically.
Maybe it would have in time, but I went to Settings, General,
Accessibility,
Voiceover, Languages and Dialects and then double tapped on US English
and
then I could turn on to use the enhanced voice, it started downloading as
soon as I turned it on.
I also turned on Reduced Motion in the main Accessibility settings.

OK, so, here is what you do with your iPhone 4:

First, make a backup of your iPhone 4, you can back it up to iCloud or to
your iTunes, I suggest you do both. I would also take this as an
opportunity
and go over all the apps and if there are any you don't use or rarely use

I
would delete them from your phone, they are not lost to you and if you
decide you want them back on your 5S later you can always redownload
them.
I actually prefer to back up to iCloud but also to do a manual backup to
iTunes and I always choose the option to do an encrypted backup which
backs
up certain passwords as well and it's a better option if you do a backup
to
iTunes anyways.
Under the Summary tab once your phone is connected you have to tab a lot
of
times, maybe 30 times, to get to it. It's a checkbox and as soon as you
check it you are asked to select a password. You can choose a relatively
simple password here, it's only on your computer and not that critical,
just
make sure after you enter it the first time to tab once and re-enter it
to
confirm, then tab to OK and press it. You should

Hi Sieghard.
Just a question about the steps that you say in this email. It is about the
finger print. Is a way to repeat the finger print setup?
for example, I like to work with tools, and some times my finger prints get
in my index finger, very difficult to be read. You know. I think that I will
need to use another finger, maybe the little finger. How can I repeat the
setup of the finger print? when I go to settings/general/passcode and finger
print, the finger print just says deep button, and is not way to activate
this feature, or to change the position of the button, saying, finger print
deep button.

I am lost.

 Subject: New iPhone 5s.

 Hi all.

Well, a few days, this last Thursday, I cancelled my order with
t-mobile for an iPhone 5s that I bought with them, because the delay
 for the delivery.
Even though, yesterday, I received a notification from USPS saying
that my iPhone 5s comes today. It is crazy.

Well, the point is this. I have 2 iPhones, one for personal
things,iPhone 4, and other for business iPhone 5. Both has different
 content and different apple account.

Now, I don't know, what I have to do to replace the functionality of
my older iPhone 4. I mean,I want to give my iPhone 4 to my friend, and
transfer the apple account to my new iPhone 5s, contacts, business
email account, bookmarks, personal email account, personal phone book,
 and apps.

What I have to do, to transfer the whole content of my older iPhone 4,
 to a new iPhone 5s?

 Thanks in advance.

 Pablo

Good morning ED.
Yes, english is not my main language, but let me clarify this;

In spanish, that means that when I did something to stop the process

room to spare, but I really don't use my
iPhone a lot for music since I am very big into audio books and if I am on a
long flight or waiting somewhere I rather listen to an audio book than to
music.

OK, good luck, once you have your new iPhone 5S setup and it's all good I
suggest you do a restore of your iPhone 4 by hooking it up to iTunes. This
will reinstall iOS 7 and wipe everything. Once the restore finishes you
would normally go to your phone and go through the setup process of
selecting language, country, entering your Apple ID etc. I would then just
disconnect it and give it to your friend and he can go through that and set
it up the way he/she wants.

Hi Ed.
Well, really this issue doesn't make sense in any language either.
I cancelled the order, but any way t-mobile sent the iPhone. So I cancelled my
order this last Thursday, but I have received a notification from USPS saying
that they will bring the iPhone today to my home. It doesn't make sense in
english or any other language. You understood well that I tried to say, and
also, english is not my native language.
Anyway, the point is that I need to know what to do to transfer apps, and
personal information from my iPhone 4 to the new one.

Hi Sieghard.
Well, I can't follow the steps that you gave me. My iPhone 5s doesn't want
to connect to my WiFi. It doesn't accept the password. I have retried it

I actually recommend you do all the stuff below
first as far as backing up your iPhone 4, then when you are ready to set
up

your iPhone 5S, just connect it to your computer and iTunes. Don't touch
anything, just take it out of the box, take off the plastic front and back
protectors and plug in the Lightning cable, then wait. Plugging it in will
turn it on and there will be a double vibrate once it's booted up. Wait
another 10 or so seconds after that to make sure it's ready, then press
the

home key 3 times and Voiceover will come on. You then have to choose your
language, your country, join your WiFi, enter your Apple Id, opt into
iMessage, Facetime and iCloud, turn on Find my iPhone, set up Touch ID
etc.

This might be in slightly different order, but it's close. When you set up
Touch ID make sure you put just one finger on the home button and do it as
many times as it asks for it. Do it by slightly rotating your finger and
by

putting different parts on it, just the tip, the sides, a bit further back
etc. Once it took about 10 or 12 readings it should tell you that it's
ready

and later on you can go to Settings, General, Passcode and Fingerprint and
set up more fingers. You will also have to choose a 4-digit passcode and
remember that if you ever turn off your phone or reboot it, you will have
to

enter your passcode the first time, only after that will Touch ID work to
unlock your phone.
It is also quite likely that after the setup process finishes you will be
told that there is an iOS update since my phone had only iOS 7.0 on it and
before I did anything else I installed the iOS 7.02 update.
I also believe that the high quality voice does not download
automatically.
Maybe it would have in time, but I went to Settings, General,
Accessibility,

Voiceover, Languages and Dialects and then double tapped on US English and
then I could turn on to use the enhanced voice, it started downloading as
soon as I turned it on.

I

would delete them from your phone, they are not lost to you and if you
decide you want them back on your 5S later you can always redownload them.

You can choose a relatively
simple password here, it's only on your computer and not that critical,
just

make sure after you enter it the first time to tab once and re-enter it to
confirm, then tab to OK and press it. You should hear Jaws announce a
percentage as your backup is going on.

OK, now once you backed up your phone you have taken care of your phone's
settings, home screen layout, any text messages and so on will be restored
etc.

I don't know how you store and sync your email and contacts so here you
probably have to figure out yourself how you get those back.
I personally use Office 365 for my business which is full hosted exchange
and I use Outlook.com (used to be Hotmail/Windows Live) for my personal
email and contacts.
Both of these services store email, contacts and calendar info in the
cloud
and the Office 365 service also syncs Notes in Outlook with the Notes app
on

my iPhone.
In my case when I received my 5S yesterday I first set it up as a new
device, then I hooked it up to iTunes and restored my encrypted backup.
Since my backup included my email account information

Do you have a dual band router? The iPhone 5s will pick up both bands,
whereas the iPhone 4 will only pick up one band. Make sure you're
connecting to the right network. For example, on my iPhone 4S, I connect
to ChaltainNet, while my wife on her iPhone 5C can connect to either

Do you have a dual band router? The iPhone 5s will pick up both bands,
whereas the iPhone 4 will only pick up one band. Make sure you're
connecting to the right network. For example, on my iPhone 4S, I connect
to ChaltainNet, while my wife on her iPhone 5C can connect to either
ChaltainNet or ChaltainNet 5G.

I

would delete them from your phone, they are not lost to you and if you
decide you want them back on your 5S later you can always redownload them.

You can choose a relatively
simple password here, it's only on your computer and not that critical,
just

make sure after you enter it the first time to tab once and re-enter it to
confirm, then tab to OK and press it.

Since my backup included my email account information and since all my
mail
and contacts are stored in the cloud, as soon as the restore finished and
I

went into Mail I only had to enter the passwords for my Office 365 account
and for the 2 Outlook.com accounts I use personally and everything

Re: New iPhone 5s, and wifi.

yes, you were right. I found a second network, with a name pretty similar
that that I had in my iPhone 4. Now my iPhone is connected.

Pablo,
Your message makes perfect sense to me. I think your english is
pretty good despite it being your another language than native. I
don't see any unclearness in your messages. Just letting you know.
OK? Anyways, I also wanted to suggest that you may have to set up
your mail again. I had to do that with my phone. Everything was
restored and came back on my phone after getting my ID back, but I had
to reset my mail accounts, but then, everything that is saved in my
mail came back to me. I got my apps back, but I had to rearange my
folders. I don't know if you have to, but just letting you know what
I experienced. It's really no big deal for me as it was pretty simple
to have it set up. Thanks!

Lastly, media such as music, photos and so on have to be synced, they are
not included in the backup. I decided to unsync all my music from my iPhone
4S before since I figured I would like to take a look at it again anyways to
see if I really want it all on my phone. I can easily put all my 26 Gb of
music on my 64 Gb phone and have room to spare, but I really don't use my
iPhone a lot for music since I am very big into audio books and if I am on a
long flight or waiting somewhere I rather listen to an audio book than to

I would then just
disconnect it and give it to your friend and he can go through that and set
it up the way he/she wants.

set up more fingers.

I
would delete them from your phone, they are not lost to you and if you
decide you want them back on your 5S later you can always redownload them.
You can choose a relatively
simple password here, it's only on your computer and not that critical,
just
make sure after you enter it the first time to tab once and re-enter it to
confirm, then tab to OK and press it.

 I personally use Office

Hi Reggie,

Maybe read my entire email once or twice and then check back with me if you
have questions. I do explain where you find the encrypted backup option in
iTunes and also that home screen layout and folders are restored if you do a
backup and then restore from that backup.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Re: New iPhone 5s.

Hanging onto this email for my upgrade. However question, is there any way
to have iCloud or iTunes download apps and folders? Maybe you gave
instruction for this, but did not read the whole email. If you did not
answer this, how can I get folders and apps back without re-downloading?
Also, important to me as I am going to dump some apps and then backup, where
do you do the encrypted backup on iTunes? I found most of what I needed, but
I never saw backup or restorre anywhere. Any help deeply appreciated.

Hi Pablo,

Maybe Ed somehow overlooked the line that your 5S is coming anyways, anyhow,
I think I understand what you need to do.

I actually recommend you do all the stuff below
first as far as backing up your iPhone 4, then when you are ready to set up
your iPhone 5S, just connect it to your computer and iTunes. Don't touch
anything, just take it out of the box, take off the plastic front and back
protectors and plug in the Lightning cable, then wait. Plugging it in will
turn it on and there will be a double vibrate once it's booted up. Wait
another 10 or so seconds after that to make sure it's ready, then press the
home key 3 times and Voiceover will come on. You then have to choose your
language, your country, join your WiFi, enter your Apple Id, opt into
iMessage, Facetime and iCloud, turn on Find my iPhone, set up Touch ID etc.
This might be in slightly different order, but it's close. When you set up
Touch ID make sure you put just one finger on the home button and do it as
many times as it asks for it. Do it by slightly rotating your finger and by
putting different parts on it, just the tip, the sides, a bit further back
etc. Once it took about 10 or 12 readings it should tell you that it's ready
and later on you can go to Settings, General, Passcode and Fingerprint and
set up more fingers. You will also have to choose a 4-digit passcode and
