Re: No Longer Able to Activate Links in Amazon Security Alert Text Messages

2021-04-19 Thread Sharon Morton
Hello,

Debby, thanks for such a positive and helpful response. Your suggestion to
use the rotor to find links and then flick to the link was a big part of
the solution. After doing that I ended up having to take it a bit further
by performing a one-finger triple tap (long press) on the link. I
then found and double tapped the Open Link button after which Safari opened
and presented me with the page on which I was able to allow access.

Thanks again and all the best

Sharon

I just signed in to my Amazon account on my computer, this method does work, at
least it did for me.

RE: No Longer Able to Activate Links in Amazon Security Alert Text Messages

2021-04-18 Thread Debby
Hi Sharon,

You are not alone in this because I have a friend using voiceover who had the
same problem. While focused on the message, have you tried turning the rotor to
links and then flicking to the link? I had a message on which that method
worked, however, I don’t think it was Amazon. By the way I got the tip from
this very list.

Take care and stay safe!

Debby

Subject: No Longer Able to Activate Links in Amazon Security Alert Text Messages

Hello,

For whatever reason, and it's driving me crazy, I can no longer activate links
in security alert text messages from Amazon. Such messages get sent when
Amazon accounts are accessed from unknown devices, and/or when sensitive
account areas, E.G., change password, are accessed. Normally, it's just a
matter of double tapping the link after which a page appears allowing one to
approve or deny the request. On my iPhone SE2 running the current version of
iOS, double tapping such links does absolutely nothing. I handed my iPhone to
a partially sighted friend, who, after I turned off VoiceOver, was able to
activate the link for me.

Needless to say, I feel somewhat foolish having successfully used iOS with
voiceover for several years and now find myself with a very basic problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks and all the best

Sharon
