Rick, reaching in to my pocket to press the home button or even pulling it
of my pocket doesn't require a lot of effort on my part. It's just not a
big deal.

True, the home button works just fine if the phone is in your hand but if
it's in a pocket or on your belt, it isn't ideal. It would be nice to be
able to activate Siri via the talk button on the headset. For the most part,
that's what folks usually do but currently not doable for us unless VO is
turned off. It sounds like maybe an Apple issue because it works fine with
VO off. Think I'll drop Apple Accessibility an email on this.

Do you use Airplay on a regular bases? If so, it will screw up SIRI. If I use

I can't remember if having audio ducking turned off makes a difference, but it

I just purchased the Voyager Legend and have updated to the latest firmware.
Generally, it's working well but I do have one consistent issue when
attempting to use Siri. I can't get Siri to activate if VoiceOver is running.
If I turn VO off, Siri works just fine. This is on an iPhone 6 plus running
IOS 8.3. Any other Legend owners experiencing this? Any other anomalies I
should be aware of between the Legend and an iPhone 6 running IOS 8.x?

2015-02-01 Thread Krister Ekstrom
Hi,
This is a known issue. It’s been mentioned briefly in the review of the Voyager
legend at applevis.com. Unfortunately i don’t know about any workaround for
this, it hasn’t been my biggest priority since i don’t use Siri due to it not
being available in the scandinavian languages.

I just purchased the Voyager Legend and have updated to the latest firmware.
Generally, it's working well but I do have one consistent issue when
attempting to use Siri. I can't get Siri to activate if VoiceOver is
running. If I turn VO off, Siri works just fine. This is on an iPhone 6 plus
running IOS 8.3. Any other Legend owners experiencing this? Any other
anomalies I should be aware of between the Legend and an iPhone 6 running

2015-02-01 Thread Rick Alfaro
Hi.

You have to go to www.plantronics.com/myheadset
And download the headset updater program. Once downloaded, you run it and
follow the step by step directions. There is where I ran into problems. It
seemed like it wasn't very accessible and I was in a hurry so I had my wife go
through the update process. I'm not saying the updater isn't useable because I
didn't take the time to mess with it a bit but just a heads up.

Hi, not sure about doing it on your phone but you can do it on your PC, no
iTunes needed for this. You have to go to www.plantronics.com/myheadset and
download the setup program that will install the myheadset install utility.
Once installed, you plug in your headset into a usb port and the utility screen
should come up.

RE: Plantronics Voyager Legend with IOS 8.x

2015-02-01 Thread Rick Alfaro
Alan, no, nothing that I noticed. The only reason I updated was because after
Googleing for my Siri issue, some users reported that upgrading the firmware
helped. I still have the issue even after the upgrade so no cigar. It must be
some sort of interfearance with VoiceOver because it works fine with VO off.
According to what I read, the update was also supposed to fix some other issues
with IOS 8 compatibility.

Do you have any trouble invoking Siri via your Legend with VO running?

Generally, it's working well but I do have one consistent issue when
attempting to use Siri. I can't get Siri to activate if VoiceOver is
running. If I turn VO off, Siri works just fine. This is on an iPhone 6

I would imagine that it would be done by going to the Plantronics web site,

RE: Plantronics Voyager Legend with IOS 8.x

2015-01-31 Thread Rick Alfaro
Re: the last message about the legend and Siri, I should have mentioned that
Siri activates just fine when using the long press home button method. The
issue I mentioned is only when attempting to activate Siri by pressing the
call button for 2 seconds.

Best regards,

Subject: Plantronics Voyager Legend with IOS 8.x

I just purchased the Voyager Legend and have updated to the latest firmware.
Generally, it's working well but I do have one consistent issue when
attempting to use Siri. I can't get Siri to activate if VoiceOver is
running. If I turn VO off, Siri works just fine. This is on an iPhone 6 plus
running IOS 8.3. Any other Legend owners experiencing this? Any other
anomalies I should be aware of between the Legend and an iPhone 6 running
IOS 8.x?

Best regards,

Rick Alfaro
