Robin, you didn't mention returning books, but a message in the thread did.
I too have only returned books that were awful.

in the US, an annual Gold membership is $149 for 12 credits.
That is roughly $12.50 per credit.
The idea of being able to return books is if you are dissatisfied with the
book.
Returning them for any other reason is unethical at best.
The Audible app is easy to use.
Personally I'm waiting for the commercial books to show up on BARD Mobile,
which many more are doing these days.
The subject line was about adding an equalizer, but it was based on a false
premiss.
BARD has a tone setting, but it is not in three separate parts, which a true
equalizer would have been.
You can adjust the Tone setting to more bass, normal, or more treble, but you
cannot say; add more bass, and at the same time add more mid-range.

The type of audible plan you have will determine how cheap it will be
to purchase the 3 credits. I have the most expensive plan which costs
me about $230 per year. However, this gets me 24 credits at once and
I only pay a little over $28 for 3 credits. It is worth it in my
opinion.

I'm sure somebody has done a tutorial or Podcast about the Audible
app and if you know a few basics as in how you download books from
your library of available books, how to delete them and that you have
to double tap the book title if you want the jump forward and
backward buttons to turn into Skip Chapter and Go back a chapter it's
really a very simple and fully accessible app.

Yeah I use to be able to buy 3 credits once I got down to one credit,
but not sure what's going on I think it might be because right now for
3 months I have a half off member ship.

Hi,
The only time I've seen the ability to purchase extra credits be
unavailable

is when you're within 30 days of your plan renewing. I hope that helps and

I am going to have to agree with Marry deleting books in the app is a

They shouldn't have ever changed the way it use to work. @Josh I would
have

to really hate my books to return them. I am hoping to build up a massive

RE: Please Join Me in Requesting that the Developers of the Audible for iOS / iPad OS App Add a Playback Sound Equalizer Feature

2019-11-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Here are the steps to delete books:

1. Locate the Refresh button by touching the right side of the screen near the
top or flick to it, I can usually touch it almost instantly.
2. Flick left once from the refresh button to "Delete" and double tap
3. Either touch your library area and drag your finger up or down to the book
you want to delete or just flick right a few times after you double tap the
master delete button
4. Once you find the book you want to delete, flick left once to its delete
button, double tap it, wait a second and double tap again as the confirmation
button will be exactly in the same place.
5. You are done.

If the rotor deletion method worked, you would simply avoid the first couple of
steps of finding and double tapping the master delete button.
After that it's about the same amount of flicks and taps, find your book,
instead of flicking left to delete you would flick up or down to switch the
rotor to delete, then you would double tap and depending on how Audible would
implement this, you may not have to double tap a second time to confirm with
the rotor method, but maybe you would have to. I still agree that it would be
nice to do it via the rotor, but I wouldn't go as far as calling the current
method a pain.

Regards,
Sieghard

Mark, as you mentioned the tone feature of bard mobile. That is a
pretty cool feature. While I don't have any hearing loss, I usually
change my tone setting to minus one, just to give my bard books a
touch extra bass. This in my opinion, gives my books a little fuller
and warmer sound.

RE: Please Join Me in Requesting that the Developers of the Audible for iOS / iPad OS App Add a Playback Sound Equalizer Feature

2019-11-12 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Mary,

I am dismayed that you could care less about an accessibility feature that
would greatly enhance the listening experience for those of us with various
degrees of hearing frequency loss. While I am glad that, based on your comment,
you do not have such a loss of hearing, there are plenty of people in our
community who do struggle with this challenge everyday.

One reason why, when given a choice, I will always choose the BARD Mobile app
over the Audible app is because of BARD's built-in playback equalizer feature.
Be that as it may, there are a great many more recently released commercially
produced titles available on Audible which is why I would love to see an
equalizer added to its feature-set.

Regardless, in support of your endeavor, I have sent an email, via the Audible
app, requesting that the delete title Rotor action feature be restored to the
app, as you requested.

I trust that you will reciprocate in kind.

Mark

Hi Mark,
Frankly, I personally could care less about this. What I care far more about is
the fact that, despite me and I know a few other people riding to audible and
asking them to restore the actions rotor so the deleting items is much easier
like it used to be, they insist on not doing it. So I would ask you to please
join me in asking audible to allow use of the action rotor invoice over to
easily delete items from one’s device. The present system is needlessly
complicated.

2019-11-12 Thread Dave

One thing you guys may not know.

If audible lose the publishing rights, to a book. Then they will remove it
from your library, even though you have used a credit. and they don't tell
you, or return your credit, unless, you notice it gone from your library.

Dave.

Likewise, I really like the Audible app. I got spoiled by being able to
download the books directly to my ios device. Very nice!

Audible has now discontinued the return feature. The last time I checked
they changed it to an exchange rather than a return.
So if you have any books in the library, they are all available in the App.
And, like siegard, I love the Audible app and use it all the time. I have
been an Audible customer for about twenty years so have lots of books there.
LOL!

I do have an audible account, I just prefer not to use the app to
listen to my audible books. My audible books don't usually stay on my
library because I often return my books although purchasing 3 credits
for a little over $28 is pretty neat. If all the audible books I own
were actually on my audible library, then maybe I'd really like the
app a bit more.

Hi,
The only time I've seen the ability to purchase extra credits be unavailable
is when you're within 30 days of your plan renewing. I hope that helps and
if I'm wrong I'm sure others will offer further insights.

I am going to have to agree with Marry deleting books in the app is a
pain. They shouldn't have ever changed the way it use to work. @Josh I
would have to really hate my books to return them. I am hoping to
build up a massive library there. For some reason I am not able to buy
extra credits right now. The app on IOS works fine for the most part,
I hate the app on win 10 though.

2019-11-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Mary,

I agree that I would probably also prefer the action rotor for deleting items,
but it's been a very long time since that was working and by now tapping on the
Master delete button and then the delete button for a particular book has
become second nature and I find it simple enough and the only extra taps you
really have are to double tap the master delete button first.

Hi Mark,
Frankly, I personally could care less about this.

Re: Please Join Me in Requesting that the Developers of the Audible for iOS / iPad OS App Add a Playback Sound Equalizer Feature

2019-11-11 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I don't use the audible app although I have it installed. I didn't
care for it very much. I found it a bit over complicated to use. I
have other means of listening to audible books.

2019-11-11 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Mark,
Frankly, I personally could care less about this.
