And for whatever it’s worth for me the way to delete books which Michael
described perfectly has been the same and was exactly the same even in iOS 9.
The only thing where I disagree with Michael’s explanation is what he said
about the Cloud tab. You can tap on the top delete button (to the left of
Refresh) which activates delete mode, but in the cloud tab there are no
individual delete buttons beside each book since you can’t delete books from
your library. You can delete them from your device, but once purchased a book
is yours forever and the only way to get rid of it is to call Audible if, for
example, you bought a book and don’t like it. They will then refund your credit
or purchase price if it was bought on a credit card and remove the book from
your library.
Maybe you were on the cloud tab when you activate the delete button and
therefore did ot find the individual delete button, but as Michael pointed out,
once you are on a book title you have to swipe right twice, the first time it
goes to “Menu” and the second time you get to delete.
Interestingly enough, visually the delete button is actually on the very left
of the screen so to the left of the book title, but you have to swipe right to
get to it. Also, if delete mode is not activated the menu button is on the very
right side and with delete mode activated visually the menu button is not
there, but when you flick you do get to it yet if you try to activate it it
won’t do anything.
I have been meaning to write to Audible because since the last or second last
update if you double tap on the title art to switch from Jump forward and Jump
back to Chapter forward and Chapter back the chapter buttons also don’t appear
in the correct order. Visually Play is in the middle and to the left is either
jump back or chapter back and to the right is jump forward or chapter forward.
If you touch the book title and swipe right you correctly get to jump back then
Play and then jump forward. If you change it to jump by chapter and do this you
first get Play, then chapter back and then chapter forward.
I also find that the buttons for Chapter back and Chapter forward are very
small and not easy to locate by touch/exploring the screen. I can easily find
Play and jump back and forward are bigger and easy to find by just dragging
your finger a bit left or right from Play, but you have to go very straight and
carefully to find chapter back and forward.

Sieghard

Subject: Re: Removing completed Audible books
The first thing to do is double-tap the delete button before you select any
books. This will make it possible to delete books. Be certain you have the
device button selected so you don't remove something from the cloud. Once the
delete button has been invoked, there will be a delete button beside each book
right after the menu button that's always there. Double-tap on that delete
button to get rid of books you don't want. When you're done, go back up to the
top and double-tap the delete button right before the refresh button. That
deactivates delete mode. Hope that helps.

Greetings. I have a couple of Audible books on my phone that I am done
with. I cannot figure out how to remove them from my device. I tried
double tapping the Delete button when in the screen listing all of my
books, but when I then double tap on a book's title, thinking that
that will select it, the book begins playing. Using whatever the
latest Audible is on an iPhone 7 with iOS 10.3, though I haven't
tested removing books with iOS 10.3. This problem started with iOS
10.2.1.
Many thanks,
