Re: Verizon LTE is a battery hog.
Hi Allison; I also heard the same opinion echoed. The reason may be that the radio is searching constantly for a 4g signal. Last year Verizon put out a Droid that was worst. RE: Verizon LTE is a battery hog.
LTE is going to be a bit tougher on the battery, it's that simple. You're going to have to make some sacrifices and compromises, or buy a battery case if you're that worried about it. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Allison Mervis Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2012 2:47 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Verizon LTE is a battery hog. I gather then, you also locked the phone once you got on the bus? If so, then figuring 25 minutes equals 10 percent of your battery would mean a little over six hours of battery life. RE: Verizon LTE is a battery hog.
I agree. It's kind of vague when people make that general of a statement. But, getting back to your original post, I also notice it, but I don't think it's anything that needs to be worried about, as that's most likely a symptom of LTE chips, seeing as they do require more power to run. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Richard Turner Sent: Saturday, September 29, 2012 3:39 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Verizon LTE is a battery hog. Re: Verizon LTE is a battery hog.
The screen curtain doesn't do anything to save battery. And, this is why Apple didn't put LTE into the 4s. The chips and radios available last year were even worse. I always clear the app switcher after I finish doing something, bluetooth is almost always turned off, and my screen curtain is always on. Furthermore, when I'm on WiFi, I don't notice nearly as significant of a drain. Do any other iPhone five users who have LTE available notice this? Thanks. RE: Verizon LTE is a battery hog.
For those of us who do not have the iPhone 5, I wonder if when battery issues are discussed, if people could specify actual time spent, rather than leaving it in generalities? I'm not picking at you, but this is a good example. You were waiting for a bus and did some light news checking and browsing--is that for 2 minutes or 20 minutes and did that continue while on the bus, etc. It is hard to gauge if we are talking about real battery drainage issues, or what without knowing how much time resulted in 10 percent battery use.
