Hi Allison;

I also heard the same opinion echoed.
The reason may be that the radio is searching constantly for a 4g signal.

Last year Verizon put out a Droid that was worst.

LTE is going to be a bit tougher on the battery, it's that simple. You're
going to have to make some sacrifices and compromises, or buy a battery case
if you're that worried about it.

How do you calculate? If 25 minutes = 10% then 250 minutes = 100% and 250/60
is about 4.1. In theory though that means that much time of doing whatever
she was doing constantly using that amount of power.

I agree. It's kind of vague when people make that general of a statement.
But, getting back to your original post, I also notice it, but I don't think
it's anything that needs to be worried about, as that's most likely a
symptom of LTE chips, seeing as they do require more power to run.

For those of us who do not have the iPhone 5, I wonder if when battery
issues are discussed, if people could specify actual time spent, rather than
leaving it in generalities?
 I'm not picking at you, but this is a good example.  You were waiting for a
bus and did some light news checking and browsing--is that for 2 minutes or
20 minutes and did that continue while on the bus, etc.
It is hard to gauge if we are talking about real battery drainage issues, or
what without knowing how much time resulted in 10 percent battery use.

The screen curtain doesn't do anything to save battery.
And, this is why Apple didn't put LTE into the 4s.
The chips and radios available last year were even worse.
