We get that too, with our son and daughter-in-law's big white dog, Buddy comes
by.

Most doorbells can be set to sent alerts when they detect motion so you don't
have to teach your dog how to press the doorbell button!
We have a Ring doorbell as well as a so-called Ring "Stickup Cam" which is a
small round cylinder you can put wherever you want and which we have sitting on
a small shelf against the backwall of the house where it can see most of our
backyard and I always get a notification when my dog walks around there, like
"Motion detected in the back yard".

hello to the list,
The weather has turned very very cold here in Ireland, my dog likes to run
around in the frost in the field, but I can no longer leave the door open, even
a fraction, for him, as we are losing all our heat! so, I was thinking one of
the doorbell apps plus hardware might be the way to go, it would tell me, or
would it, if my dog was waiting outside the back door? at the moment, we have
nothing of the sort either in terms of security or doorbells so I am a novice
to this whole idea of cameras Around the house. any hints tips tricks and
suggestions would be gratefully received.

>From the frosty island, Sandy and ZYON a.k.a. Rudolph!
