Re: voice changed over night

2023-05-10 Thread Lyne
Of course! I did the forced restart too. It began with IOS 15 if I remember.
When I updated the voice was changed for Thomas. Just turning VO off and back
was enough but not the time that I mention...

There are actually 5 American Siri voices, not 4. I'm currently using
eloquence as my voice over voice and it is working well.

Siri is most certainly available for Voiceover, I have been using it for years
and all 4
American English Siri voices are available to me in Voiceover Settings.

The reason that happened is, since Siri is no longer an option for Voiceover,
Samantha is the default voice, and so that is hwo you got.

Subject: voice changed over night

Hi all,

I am running IOS 16.4.1A. I have an Iphone SE 2020. I was using the Siri
voices for VO speech. However, when my alarm went off this morning and I got
,up I found that the voice had changed to Samantha non-enhanced. I was very
confused at this since I hadn't changed anything to do with my speech. I went
into Accessibility settings to change the voice back to Siri and found that
Siri voices are no longer an option. they do not even show up in the list of
voices. I had to choose another voice and I do not like very many of the
choices at all.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix for this? Can I get the Siri voices
back?

Thanks for any help.

First of all I would close all apps and reboot the phone, then check and most
likely your Siri voices will be there again

Re: voice changed over night

2023-05-09 Thread The Evil Chocolate Cookie
I’m running the 16.5 beta, and the Siri voices are still working here.
Sometimes voiceover glitches out and voices go poof. Try to restart your phone
and restart voice over.

Ok, never mind. I just went in to pick another voice because the one I had it
set to was driving me crazy. I had looked through the list of voices 3 times
before and Siri was not there. I was moving through the list again to find a
better voice and Siri was there now. I got it back to the voice I prefer.

Thanks.

Things can get crazy the week leading up to a new version of IOS for
some reason. I've experienced this a lot over the past few years. Some
times voices change, other times it affects dictation or the way VO
pronounces certain words. So just something you'll have to get used to I
guess.

Re: voice changed over night

2023-05-09 Thread Dan

Ok, never mind.  I just went in to pick
another voice because the one I had it set to was driving me
crazy.  I had looked through the list of voices 3 times before
and Siri was not there. I was moving through the list again to
find a better voice and Siri was there now.  I got it back to
the voice I prefer.

Thanks.

  Hi all,

I am running IOS 16.4.1A.  I have an Iphone SE 2020. I was
using the Siri voices for VO speech.  However, when my alarm
went off this morning and I got ,up I found that the voice had
changed to Samantha non-enhanced.  I was very confused at this
since I hadn't changed anything to do with my speech.  I went
into Accessibility settings to change the voice back to Siri and
found that Siri voices are no longer an option.  they do not
even show up in the list of voices.  I had to choose another
voice and I do not like very many of the choices at all.

Has anyone else seen this?  Is there a fix for this?  Can I get
the Siri voices back?

  Thanks for any help.
