For reading screens I find talking Goggles the best, for example when the computer is quiet it will read the windows is installing 6 of 8 updates, don't shut down etc. TapTapSee is good if you want to read an oven clock or a small air con screen where it will read the temp but it won't OCR large amounts of text. I'm not sure exactly what you are going for, but have you tried Talking goggles? Or, maybe one of the OCR apps like TextGrabber or prizmo ...? Hi Jim, I have been able to read my laptop's screen with prizno. However, the text recognition is poor and it is difficult to get a good image. You need to place the lcd screen below the phone camera. There may be better ways to do this. Just a thought but you could use vo shift c to copy the last phrase to the clipboard. Not an app but in fact a VoiceOver feature and works anywhere of course providing VoiceOver is on.
