Hi Richard, I looked up the app, and it's just says intercom for Sonos. However
whenever I clicked on it to share it with you, it did not let me connect to the
App Store. So I am assuming that the app is no longer available on the App
Store.

Joseph,
Lots of things come up when searching for intercom on the iOS app store.

Could you either give the link or the developer name?

Wait a minute, before you go advertising that you can't use the intercom
feature via a Sonos speaker, actually you can. There's an app called intercom,
that works for the Sonos speakers. So if you have an iPhone or an android, all
you have to do is open up that app, and you can make announcements all through
your house on your Sonos system.

You can if you open the Amazon Alexa app first and have it set to be listening.

But, no, you cannot just say that because the app is on the phone.

That is good news, sounds like the way to go, download Alexa, which I'll do,
when we get moved.

Lisa, This is not true. The Amazon Alexa app can do Everything that an Alexa
device can do. I have an old iPhone, which has no cellular service. The phone
is connected to wifi only. I/we use the app ONLY to control smart lights & our
Ring security camera. The Only thing that I do Not use the app for is adding
items into my shopping cart & placing orders. I even make wifi calls using the
app. A stand alone Amazon Alexa device is not necessary.

You can order with the app, but be very careful that it is adding the
correct item to your cart.
Also, be careful when using your phone with the app listening or a
device listening, because if it hears your phone say something like,
I can add the roborock vacuum to your cart; you may find that item is
now in your cart.
It took a bit of work to get it out of the cart.

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to check in with everyone and wish you all a happy
Apple accessibility summer. I cannot believe that August 2022 is
already underway.

You know, it's kind of funny, I use my Apple devices more and more
and yet I have less and less to say about them as they continue to
get better and better. (smile)

A few things that I have been intending to post but have not:

1.
In addition to my wired EarPods, I now use both AirPods, third gen,
and Airpods Pro, on a regular basis. While I would have to say
that my Airpods Pro offer better sound quality, I like the Airpods
third gen, because they offer an easier / lighter listening
experience. I

There will be no Touch Id on this year's iPhones or let's just say I'd be
extremely surprised if there were since at this point the rumours are typically
quite accurate.

Just FYI, you can probably find a third-party repair place which could replace
that Lightning port on your 8 Plus for a fairly reasonable amount if you so
desired. I guess it all depens on what your plans are for your 8 Plus, if you
want to sell it finding out if this could be done for say $50 might be worth
it, but I certainly wouldn't spend more than that.

easier / lighter listening experience. I know that sounds crazy but, for me,
it is true.

2.
My poor old 8 Plus is truly on its last legs. The lightening port can no
longer hold a cable, unassisted. This is to say, in order for me to keep a
cable inserted, the phone must be on a horizontal plain or the cable will fall
out. I do use a wireless charger with it but . I am going to try to make it
last until the next iPhone release which, hopefully, will offer some form of
touch ID. However, If touch ID is not included in the next release I will
either purchase the biggest best new phone or I will get an S E. One way or
another, my beloved 8 Plus is on its way out (smile.)

3.
My iPad 10.5 2017 is going strong; it runs like a champ. However, I am
definitely going to get a new MacBook Pro after I purchase my next iPhone.
I have a MacBook Air, M1, in the house but I really don't like the fact that it
automatically powers on at the touch of any key. This is quite annoying.

4.
As for software? I find that I am using fewer and fewer apps. I am not sure
why.

All of the apps that allow me to easily manage my finances continue to be my
favorite apps, of course. However the Amazon apps continue to be at the top of
my must have list. I noticed some kind of a glitch between VoiceOver and Alexa
on an iPhone 11, the other day. Interesting as this glitch does not occur on
my beloved 8 Plus. My solution? Delete and then reinstall the Alexa app.

Pill Reminder, My Chart, CA Lottery, and Yelp also head-up my favorite apps
list, these days. Of course, I am omitting all of the native Apple apps as
their significance to my accessible life is unparalleled

While I continue to be a big fan of Twitter, for some reason, the app, and the
service itself, for that matter, feel less streamline and unencumbered, these
days. Just my opinion, of course.

Uber, Lift, and Insta Cart are amazing, as always.

And of course, all of the book reading apps remain dear to my heart.

While I would love to list some games that I enjoy on either iOS or iPad OS,
alas, I cannot. I do not know of any onboard (not requiring an internet
connection) VoiceOver accessible card games and / or board games; a sad
reality, to be sure.

All replies to this post are welcome and, in fact, greatly appreciated.

I hope this finds you all happy and well.

Hello,I have an early 2015 MacBookPro, which sadly, isn’t supported by Ventura. I was looking forward to beta testing that, as some areas have changed, according to what I read on the subject. I also have an iPhone SE, second generation and it’s going strong. I beta test iOS 16. I have an account for the Apple Developer Program, just for testing the most buggy beta releases. There are things I love about iOS 16, but I cannot say most of what I like about it, do to the non-disclosure agreement I read and signed. But, as made public by AppleVis, I love Eloquence! It’s an awesome beta, and I cannot wait ‘till it is public, as then, everything can be shared. On Aug 7, 2022, at 5:29 PM, Richard Turner wrote:As for card games that do not require an internet connection, try:King's Corner, $0.99 byBitpress, LLCAnd Cribbage Pro, I'll have to look up the developer and add it to my web site.Richard“What we think or what we know or what we believe is in the end of little consequence. last until the next iPhone release which, hopefully, will offer some form of
touch ID. However, If touch ID is not included in the next release I will
either purchase the biggest best new phone or I will get an S E. One way or
another, my beloved 8 Plus is on its way out (smile.)

Mark

As for card games that do not require an internet connection, try:
King's Corner, $0.99 byBitpress, LLC
And Cribbage Pro, I'll have to look up the developer and add it to my web site.
