Hi, I too would like to recomend CopyTrans. Do not confuse it with CopyTrans Manager Free. The one you need is CopyTrans. you can download and try it before paying. You should be able to associate it with a new computer without erasing it. I've done it before several times but don't remember how. Also, the only way to get the music off the IPod is to buy a program which can be used to pull the music off it. Again I don't remember the name of a good one. I had a lot of trouble fining such a program last year. Their is a lot of trashy sites when you do a search for it.
