Re: Pasting Permission in iOS16?

2022-09-20 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello all,
The excessive copy and paste permission is an actual bug with iOS. It has been
reported in mainstream media. There is suppose to be a fix for it coming from
apple in an iOS 16 release next week. At least that is what I am seeing on
twitter.

I don’t get enough text messages to be bothered by the extra step, but the

HI Sieghard,

You stumbled onto something here.

If I Select text, and use the rotor to go to Edit, then paste, and double tap,
no permission is asked for.

If I use the gesture I defined for pasting, permission is asked for every time.

I selected text from Safari, I also use MBraille a lot to compose thoughts,
edit them, then copy and paste them into a document or email, message, whatever
and using the gesture causes the permission to pop up; however, I discovered if
I just do a two finger scrub gesture to clear the pop up permission message,
the paste happens anyway and it seems to stop asking for that session.

So, that could be a work around. Just ignore the pop up permission request by
clearing it with the scrub gesture.

I didn’t know the minisub was out. I’ll have to consider that. What about
you? We probably should take that discussion off line, .

Later,

If you use the rotor method, the permission doesn’t come up.

Or, just do a two finger scrub and clear the permission request and the paste
happens anyway.

I wonder if you have a setting that is allowing you to avoid those messages.

I don’t get enough text messages to be bothered by the extra step, but the
pasting one is a real PITA.

That, or since Apple isn’t seeing it internally, you are just one of the lucky
ones.

RE: Pasting Permission in iOS16?

2022-09-19 Thread Carolyn
Recently, I have sent two emails to Apple regarding Voiceover not having
volume, when I am on a phone call and Voiceover not coming on when I turn my
phone back on.

Apple has responded to each email. They had no suggestion for volume, so I told
them that someone on a list suggested I turn Voiceover off with Power Button
then back on, while the phone is ringing on a call. I did; that worked. So, I
told them about that solution.

For Voiceover not coming on after turning phone back on, they have suggested
log capture. I don't quite understand how to do that, but they sent the steps
to do that. They then wanted me to be sure to log the time of the incident and
have given a reference number.

I was very impressed with their response and am glad that I now have their
email address in my Contacts.

Thanks for sharing this article.

But, all the more reason for everyone experiencing this, and finding it
annoying, to report it to Apple since they say they are not seeing it
internally.
