RE: Reviving an old iPad
There are some apps where I have seen in the What's new section that they dropped support for iOS 10 or even iOS 11, but I think you'll find most apps still work with iOS 10. iOS 10 was the first version of iOS which warned users that 32 Bit apps may slow down the OS, but 32 Bit apps were still supported, in iOS 11 support for 32-bit apps was dropped entirely and unless developers upgraded their apps to 64-bit architecture they don't work any more and are probably not to be found on the app store any more. I remember a few people had a really hard time to let go of some apps, but I can't remember what they were any more. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Joe Orozco Sent: Monday, September 30, 2019 9:04 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Reviving an old iPad I assume I can get the exact model number in Settings? So far the battery seems to work surprisingly well. Is app compatibility just going to be a hit or miss? I don't want to chuck the thing just because it's not up to iOS 13. I guess I just want a realistic sense of what I might expect before going through the trouble of setting it up. Thanks for the response so far. RE: Reviving an old iPad
The first iPad to feature a Lightning connector was the iPad 4th Generation which was released on November 2, 2012 with an A6X processor and it was discontinued on October 16, 2014. It was released with iOS 6.0.1 and the latest version of iOS which is supported is 10.3.4 which was released on July 22, 2019. It should still work fine, not sure how much battery life you get out of it after such a long time especially if it has been gathering dust sitting somewhere with a dead battery. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Joe Orozco Sent: Monday, September 30, 2019 8:39 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Reviving an old iPad Hi, I have a 10 inch iPad I'm considering resurrecting.
