Hi, no. These apps are read - only apps to give you access to your balances as the bank has them. They are not check book or balancing apps. For something like that you would want Home Budget, which does offer a lite version. I believe it has syncing capabilities with certain banks, but I'm not totally sure about that. -- Raul A. Apparently dictation screwed that last message up. LOL. What I am looking for is an app that works similar to Quicken but can be accessed with both the computer and the iPhone. Accounting apps for PC and iPhone - Was Re: The new Mint is totally accessible
Hi, I dont' believe so. In order to work on the accounts from both a PC and an iDevice, you would need some sort of cloud-based accounting app or software package. Re: The new Mint is totally accessible
Hi there Keith, My wife says it does sync. I experienced two problems with the syncing. I wrote two checks to purchase a painting for my wife at Christmas. I asked the painter to cash them a week apart so my wife would not be suspicious. She still was when she got a Mint alert and checked to see who I had written the checks too. There went that surprise. The next year a bought her a rocking chair and asked the woodworker to put through the VISA card right before Christmas. He forgot and put it through a week early and she got another Mint alert. There went that surprise, too. Last year, I had a co worker help me sneak out cash from my checking account over a two month period. Finally, I bought her a painting that was truly a surprise. Bottom line: Mint definitely syncs, for better or for worse. Tom Frank vermont...@gmail.com On Nov 16, 2013, at 12:49 AM, Keith Bundy kb5...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, Tom. Re: The new Mint is totally accessible
Hi, Mint is cool. Another one which does similar is Check, which was formally called PageOnce. It's important to note that these apps are read-only, meaning they will check your banks or alert you of bills due, but you need to give them access to read your information. I don't know about Mint, but Check, has the ability to do bill pay as well. I forget if there is cost associated with it. I prefer Check because it also has bill reminders and alerts if you get a deposit. both Mint and Check are free to use. -- Raul A. Re: The new Mint is totally accessible
With either Mint or Check, could I go to the store, run a charge on either one of my credit cards or my debit card, but run it as a credit and not put in the ATM code, and then go outside and immediately enter that charge manually? I ask this because I don't want to wait the 2-3 days that it might take for that charge to get processed. I'd like to just go ahead and enter it so that I know what my balance will be once everything has cleared. I'm using Microsoft Money 2004 on my PC now, but I'd like to find a good iPhone app that I can sync with either a PC based app or online, and that I can also sync with my bank so that cleared charges are marked while charges that I've manually entered but that haven't cleared the bank/credit card yet are shown, but are not marked as reconciled. Hope that makes sense? If Check or Mint don't do this, does anything have a recommendation of something I might want to look at? TIA! Hello there Amy, Mint only reflects your actual account balances. As far as I know, you cannot enter any individual transactions. Mint only gives you a summary of all your accounts. Re: The new Mint is totally accessible
Hi, Tom. I am looking for an app that we can sync between our computer and my iPhone. Will this app do that? However, the latest version that I downloaded today seems to be totally accessible. One confession: my sighted wife set up the app at the beginning with our accounts. She's a geek and I am not.
