Re: Touchtones getting stuck on iPhone 6+

2014-10-08 Thread Wayne Merritt
This happened to me for the first time yesterday when I was entering
numbers in my bank's phone system. I have an iPhone 6 running 8.0.2.
When it happened, I freaked out and ended the call then rebooted my
phone. I was prepared for it to happen again when I dialed my bank a
second time, but everything worked normally. Go figure. I have had the
iPhone 6 for about 10 days now and had not experienced the behavior
until yesterday. Weird how these things happen.

 Hi All,

Have looked back through the recent list traffic but have not seen this
 one discussed.

I'm running iOS 8.0.2 and am restoring my iPhone 6+ from an iCloud
backup. I say 'am restoring' since the phone still tells me it is restoring
on the lock screen even after several days.

the backup is from my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.2 and all looks basically
well except for a very serious issue with the phone keypad both when
 dialing
a phone number or dialing when on a call already.

What happens is that at any given time, (without warning) keys on the
phone keypad will in essence, stick, so that the tone for said keys will
continue to play after I have released my finger. I have never seen this
issue before through years of using the iPhone. The only ways I have found
to stop these tones (once started) are:

1 try double-tapping the key in question once again. Sometimes however,
this will play the tone for the key again which interferes with either the
phone number I am dialing or the phone directory system I am entering data
 into.

2 closing the phone app. this sometimes works and sometimes does not.

3 If all else fails I have needed to completely restart the phone to get
the tones to stop being played.

Just as a reference, I have my keyboard settings set to touch typing.

Obviously the above behavior is completely unacceptable and quite
serious. So I would have expected to see others commenting on this here. So
unless I am the only one seeing this, has anyone else had this happen to
 them at all?

Thanks so much to you All and I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Yes, telling SIRI to dial a number and then speak the number is a
work-around. However, this does not solve the problem of having to dial

RE: Touchtones getting stuck on iPhone 6+

2014-10-07 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I only had to reboot my phone with the Beta versions of iOS 8. Once the
Goldmaster/public release came out touching the same number again always has
stopped the tone and so did bringing up the app switcher and removing the
Phone app.

Sieghard

 Hi All,

Have looked back through the recent list traffic but have not seen this
one discussed.

I'm running iOS 8.0.2 and am restoring my iPhone 6+ from an iCloud
backup. I say 'am restoring' since the phone still tells me it is restoring
on the lock screen even after several days.

the backup is from my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.2 and all looks basically
well except for a very serious issue with the phone keypad both when dialing
a phone number or dialing when on a call already.

 Smiles,

 Cara :)

I think we have all experienced it. I had it worse on my 4s, but still
experience it on my six plus. Quite a lot of dsicussion about it on
lists, and it has been reported to apple accessibility. Great disinent
sounds, though, right?

Re: Touchtones getting stuck on iPhone 6+

2014-10-06 Thread Shai
Hello Cara,
Yes, I am having this happen here also and perform the same behavior
that you describe.
Though this is not on an iPhone6 and is on an iPhone5s, I wanted to
report that I am having the same issue.

Ithink I Might need to replace my delte key. Kidding only but, it's defenetly
got a work out over the past month.
