Re: Tune in radio questions

2017-04-12 Thread Mary Otten
The tune in books are not in the public domain. At least not all of them. If
you go into tune in, even if you're not subscribe, you can see some featured
audiobooks or top audiobooks. They are all recent books, clearly not in the
public domain. But I have no idea how tune in gets its subset of books from
what I presume is the Audible catalog.

Getting back to Mary's TuneIn Premium features question, does anyone know
what distinguishes the 40.000 free audiobooks from the larger catalogue of
a company such as, for example, Audible? Are the TuneIn Premium books in

Thanks.

Re: Tune in radio questions

2017-04-11 Thread Mary Otten
Hi richard,
Yes, I know I can do the free trial. That's one of the differences between the
Google and Apple version, with Google you can get a 30 day free trial if you
then sign up for an entire year. And I forgot about the language learning,
rapid Arabic etc. In that same place where ever it was, where I saw the stuff
about the language learning books etc., there was also a heading under which
were listed several Podcasts and other talk showsprogressive, which I was
particularly interested in, since that stuff seems rather hard to come by on
regular radio. But now I'm wondering if those podcasts etc. are all really
available on the non-premium subscription as you say, I can sign up for seven
days and check it out I suppose.

Hi mary,
You know you can do a 7 day free trial, right?
Yu could scope it out then.
On their web site: tunein.com they list NFL, MLB, Commercial free radio, over
40,000 audio books and language learning as the premium package.

HTH,

Subject: Tune in radio questions

It has been a while since I used tuning radio seriously, but I am looking at it
again, even looking at the premium subscription. But I'm having a hard time
finding out what I get on premium that I don't get on the regular service. What
is clear is that you get major-league baseball, pro football, and pro
basketball. And there are a bunch of audiobooks. And there are commercial free
music stations, although I don't think the bit rate of playback is all that
high. I also thought there was other premium audio content, but I just
successfully played one of the things that I thought was only on premium using
my regular tuning pro. So, does anybody know where you can see an actual list
of everything that is included with the premium subscription? Also just out of
curiosity, if you use android and sign up for premium, you can get a year
subscription for $99. That option does not seem to be available through the
iTunes Store. Am I just missing it? Unfortunately, you can't sign up on one
platform and get that premium everywhere. That seems a shame, but I guess it
is because the sign-up in both cases goes through the particular play or App
Store of the OS if you could sign up through tune in itself, I would guess you
can have your stuff on any platform, rather like what happens with Audible. Too
bad Julian is it doing that. That might also be why you can't get any premium
stuff using Alexa.
