Re: Voice book
Amy, to get Voicebook working, try to do the following: 1. Go to: m.facebook.com 2. Click on settings and privacy link. 3. Click on apps link. 4. You will find all authorized apps with Facebook. So click on voicebook link and find remove. 5. After that open Voicebook and reauthorize it again. Some people say it is good to remove Voicebook app from the phone and instal it again. For me just removing Voicebook from authorized facebook apps did the trick, so I did not have to reinstal Voicebook. Hope that helps. Voice book is an app that basically reads your facebook news stories. You can read like and comment and yes you pay for it. FYI: Voicebook VO isn't intended to be a full Facebook client. It's strength is that it lets you get through the newsfeed very very quickly. Re: Voice book VO
It is very basic but very good at the basic things it does. There are a couple of other things you can do. Two of these options only show up if there are comments and/or likes. If there are comments or likes on the post you will also see the options to read comments and who likes this.. When you are in the menu of a newsfeed post, keep right swiping all the way down and there is also an option for settings. There are three options in the settings screen. RE: voice book. going back a page. sort of related to my last post
I changed the way I normally do a swipe when I use Voice book VO. I lay my finger across the screen, right to left when it portrait view and swipe up or down to move from page to page within the feed. Took a while to get it down but, this is the easiest way for me. *smile* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. RE: Voice Book and philosophy [was Re: tried]
For me, if I'm going to use a blindness related product whose design was solely to make accessible a mainstream product not built with accessibility in mind, I will both use the blindness product, and encourage the manufacturer of the mainstream product to come into compliance with accessibility standards. If we use blindness-related products without lobbying for accessibility to the main streams, mainstream producers may assume we blind people will design work-around to their inaccessible tools. Sure, we can take companies and products to court, but given the large number of companies, and the small number of blind people, many companies might be willing to take the risk of not bothering with accessibility. The payout of fines might be less than hiring the people to create accessible products. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Christopher Chaltain Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2012 8:01 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Voice Book and philosophy [was Re: tried] This is just my personal opinion, and I don't intend to force this opinion on anyone else or flame anyone, but I disagree for myself. Hi, I think i agree with you there. I think we should encourage mainstream developers to keep accessibility in mind by for example promoting apps that do just that. /Krister 26 maj 2012 kl. 15:30 skrev Michael Malver: For me, if I'm going to use a blindness related product whose design was solely to make accessible a mainstream product not built with accessibility in mind, I will both use the blindness product, and encourage the manufacturer of the mainstream product to come into compliance with accessibility standards. RE: Voice Book and philosophy [was Re: tried]
Hi listers, As with so much, preference is surely the key. In the early days of computing in the UK we used completely custom-made wordprocessors, databases etc. As accessibility to mainstream systems improved, we graduated accordingly. I will look at most apps, including Voicebook, to see if it enhances my use of Facebook; if it does, I'll use it gratefully. We should be careful about dismissing assistive technology and guidance; I would never want to say: 'I won't use Anna's book because it has been written for blind users'.
