Aimee; I wish I were as comfortable with it. The other thing care for was that real short charging cord. I am presently using a JawBone Era. It is comfortable and, the sound quality is decent. Re: iPhone 5 Verizon
I don't know of any connection issues with braille displays. I remember this issue last year before iOS 5 was released. Before iOS 5, the AT&T iPhones were getting iOS upgrade versions while we Verizon users got stuck at iOS 4.2.8. The WiFi issue with the 5 appeared soon after the release of the iPhone 5 on Verizon. Customers were connected to WiFi and ending up with the phone switching back to cellular data, resulting in several customers being charged for overages. Once the problem was discovered, Verizon waved the overage charges for those customers. The iOS 6.0.1 update resolved this issue for good. Sharing data with the MyFi device sounds like a good plan. - Original Message - From: "Aimee Glover" To: Sent: Saturday, December 15, 2012 4:02 PM Subject: Re: iPhone 5 Verizon I was really looking to see if anybody noticed functional differences between the iPhone 5 on Verizon. For some reason I remember folks having trouble keeping Braille displays connected with the Verizon phone. I already have a data card with Verizon so I would probably share its data with the phone. I figured that when I was out and needed to do both data and talk I would just use my mifi. Please explain what you mean by the wifi/cellular problem has been resolved? I wanted to switch to Verizon because it would same money sharing the data with my mifi rather than paying for phone and data on AT&T for my phone and then having the Verizon mifi as well. Two things to note, one, if you have unlimited data with at&T, that isn't an option with Verizon anymore. You would have the option of selecting a share everything plan, or the 2GB, 5GB or 10GB personal data plan if you are the only smartphone user. The second thing to note is that you won't be able to use data services like email while talking on the phone unless you are on WiFi. AT&T customers can of course browse the internet and use other data services while engaged on a call with or without being on WiFi. I have been with Verizon for the past six years and have few complaints, and absolutely none about the service and coverage. Verizon does still offer the $30 2GB data plan, as well as a 5GB plan for $50. Most customer service reps are pushing the share everything plans that give you unlimited talk and texts with data plans starting at $50 for 1GB and going up in increments to as much as 20GB for $150. I hope this information helps. - Original Message - From: "Aimee Glover" To: Sent: Saturday, December 15, 2012 12:01 PM Subject: iPhone 5 Verizon I have the 4s with AT&T and am thinking of going to the 5 with Verizon. Hi Amy, I am not sure about the accessories you use, but they should work fine to my knowledge since the bluetooth technology is the same in both the 4S and the five.
