RE: new blood glucose sensor

2017-11-07 Thread Richard Turner
The full press release about the first part of the study is found at this link:
https://epichealth.io/2017/09/03/press-release-glucose-2/

Nothing was said about when the app might be released.
Sounds almost too good to be true, but for those with diabetes, it would be
quite fantastic.

Yes, that’s right. You can have different alarms for different circumstances.
You can also pick a range to try and stay within, so for example, my high alarm
is set at 16, my low is at 4 so I can do something about it before it goes too
low.

Re: new blood glucose sensor

2017-10-16 Thread Andy Baracco
A while back I read about a smart phone app called Epic, which is supposed to
measure blood glucose by scanning your finger tip and analyzing the blood flow.
No additional device is needed. no needles, test strips, etc. The article said
that the app should be ready by the end of the year.

The only totally accessible glucose meter that I am aware of is the prodigy
voice. You should be able to obtain this through insurance or you can go to
either Amazon or the NFB independence market and purchase it.

Hello; Here’s a question from one of my client’s, perhaps someone has a
answer.

Hi David

I am using “Freestyle libre” a new blood glucose sensor to aid in
management of my type1 diabetes.

Here’s the problem the device I use to scan the sensor will not read the
result to me. It does not work with my I phone asI’ve tried different apps to
read the device.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I’m now relying on
others to read it to me.
