Hi,

Thanks. I have the I phone 8. I'll try this but last time it just wouldn't
let me turn the phone off.

RE: question about a command

2021-05-22 Thread CJ & AA MAY
Which version of the Iphone do you have, Pat? I believe it is one of the
earlier versions so if you hold down the button on the righthand side of the
phone for about five seconds, it should then ask if you want to turn it off and
you swipe with your finger (left to right) until you reach the option you want
and double tap.

Hi,

I am quite a novice re I phones. I have an I phone 8 and need a bit of
assistance please. Since updating the last ios 14.5 I can't seem to either
turn off my phone or know when text messages have been sent as the little
jingle that I hear has disappeared. So can someone please tell me how to turn
off my phone? I think this latest update has also messed up my home screen.
Thanks.

Re: question about a command

2021-05-21 Thread Alan Lemly
Vicki,

You don't mention whether you pressed the volume up or volume down button at
the same time as the power button. When I press either volume button
simultaneously with the power button on my iPhone SE 2020, I get a screen
containing a slide to power off control at the top, an emergency SOS button in
the middle and a cancel button at the bottom. If I execute the cancel button, I
have to enter my passcode as if I had powered off.

I have no clue whether the first generation SE behaves similarly but you could
either Google it or call Apple Accessibility as Richard suggested.

Hi,

What exactly happens when a person holds down the on/off button and the volume
control button at the same time on an older SE phone?

Thanks.

OK, this describes the exact time to call Apple Accessibility where you would
likely get a solid answer.

But, you know now not to do that again, grin.

Well, I did it without thinking because I was doing three things at once and

Finally the fourth time it just started working again. I just wanted to make
sure that I didn't need to check some settings after that.

Thanks.
