Re: recording room audio

2014-12-18 Thread Alan J Paganelli
No, when you open the app, the sond volume drops down very low. I have to hold
my iPhone close to my face to even hear what Voice Over is saying. The actual
recording process works ok. Even when you stop recording, the voice over
volume remains low. Even exiting the app does not change anything. The only
way I found that I can get the volume back to my control using the volume
buttons is to go in to settings, Sound, and then to sound volume. Then double
tap the volume and it will return control back over to the up/down volume
buttons on the side of my iPhone 5s. That’s my only complaint so far with the
app. I like that I can export my MP3 recording to my dropbox.

Re: recording room audio

2014-12-18 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello all. One thing that I find really helps is if a recommendation for an app
is made, not only should the person making the recommendation say how they
found the app, but who the developer is and then even if possible provide a
link. So for example for this app in question I did a search for the app name
as listed below, and I found two entries in the app store. The first entry is
the free version which indicates there are in app purchases. The second entry
is the pro version which cost $3.99. I double tap on the first entry and find
the information. Near the upper right corner of the screen is a share button. I
double tap the share button and then I double tap the copy link button so
here's the link. If you double tap the following link it will open the app
description directly in the app store so you don't have to do the steps above.
Good luck.

Oh Neal many thanks for this tip. Removing it from the app switcher did the
trick. I had never heard of this before but it does make perfect sense. You
don’t want to get feed-back squeal from the iPhone thus making your recording
useless. I also like the ability to export my recording to my dropbox. This
is a nice little recording app. you can choose from multipal formats for your
rec-mode as well. I can also select the record source and use my Ledgend ear
peace mike as well.. Now that I think about it, I may even be able to use the
start stop button on the ledgend too. Thanks again for your help my friend!

Re: recording room audio

2014-12-16 Thread Alan J Paganelli
Jerry, on your recomendation, I downloaded the free version of this app. I
like the fact that you get a choice of audio formats. My question is this.
Are there any limits as far as to how long a recording can be in the free
version? I'm the president of my home owners association and would like to
use this app to record our meetings which sometimes can get lengthy such as
an hour or two. If the free version has limitations, I would assume the
paid version doesn't.

I would use the Voice Memos app. This comes as a native app and can be found in
the top left corner of Page 2 on the home screen, beside the Extras folder.

RE: recording room audio

2014-12-15 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Eden,

Check the app Snorelab, it will do what you want as long as you are prepared to
spend $3.99 for it.
If you are awake and just want to record for a while you can also just use the
native Voice Memo app which is preinstalled on all iPhones.
If you want to read more about Snorelab you can go to their website,
www.snorelab.com or check the app description in the app store:

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/snorelab-snoring-management/id529443604?mt=8

I can't comment as to the accessibility of Snorelab since I heard about it on
some Podcast, but you can always check Applevis to see if somebody has tried it
or you can of course send the developer an email via their website and ask
about its accessibility. I am sure this would be oof interest to others on the
list so let us know what you find out if you do end up trying it or end up
contacting the developer.

Regards,
Sieghard
