Huh? You can't activate it by pressing the volume up and down buttons as

Hi,

I use the BeatBox, which one can obtain from SpeedDots. the dimensions are
approximately 3inches. Although I don't have an iPad, I do use it with my
ipHone and MacBook air. On the top face, there is a large round button to
play/puase, and an up/down button for the volume controls and a right/left
button to go back or to the next tract. The only downside with the speaker is
that there is no indicator spoken for the battery level. I have been using it
for a while and the sound is equal to the JamBox, but the price is about 1/2 of
it. On the SpeedDots web page, you can sample the BeatBox performance. HTH.

Re: Recommendation for speakers for the iPad

2014-02-06 Thread Gmail
I will soon be getting a speaker called the UE Boom! I'm super excited about
it! I tested a lot of speakers in an Apple store, (I know, not exactly the best
environment to be doing that sort of thing in(, and that one sounded the best
to me. Best of all, like it's little brother, the UE Mini Boom, with the help
of an app, UE Boom or UE Mini Boom, respectively, with too speakers, you can
have stereo sound! This is something I really wanted, and without having to use
a non-portable docking station, which, I might add, itn't compatible with other
platform.

The UE Boom's retail price is200 U.S. dollars, while the Ue Mini Boom
retails for 100 U.S. dollars. You can often find them for lower prices, though.
They come in a Myriad of colors, as well. Personally, I think the sound of the
Boom sounds better than the sound of the Mini Boom.

I'm not sure if the iOS apps are universal, however. I'll have to check on that.

Thanks,
Ari

Once it's set up, you can. But by default, it cannot be activated as is the

RE: Recommendation for speakers for the iPad

2014-02-05 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Jordan,

If you don't mind that they are wired you can save yourself a lot of money
since most Bluetooth speakers are more expensive and of lesser sound quality
unless you get into the $200 and up category. Anyhow, as for wired you could
simply use any set of good quality powered computer speakers. If you have a
stereo you could just connect your iPad to it with a 3.5mm Mal to RCA cable
which you could plug into any input on your stereo amplifier or receiver
except Phono (that was for the old turn tables).

Regards,
Sieghard
