RE: Reporting Battery Status When Charging, Does It Give False report Too?

2015-12-05 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Fazil,

It just means that your phone says it’s on AC power and the charging stops, but
from time to time it provides a small charge to top off the battery again since
of course it will use up battery power even when it is just sitting there.
Think of it like a plastic container which has a small hole. Let’s say you fill
it full of water and you have a mechanism in place which automatically shuts
off the water when the container is full to the top. Now a bit of water runs
out through the hole and the water level drops. Your mechanism is set up so
that as soon as it drops a bit your tap turns on, but it knows only a small
amount of water is required so just a “trickle” comes out until the container
is once again full and then it shuts off again.

Regards,

Sieghard

This seems as it should be. It will charge fast at first and when it gets to
some point over 90% the charger will revert to a trickle charge mode to avoid
damaging the battery. When it says 100% on AC power, you can stop the process.
I do not believe that it will damage the phone or battery to keep it plugged
into the charger, but there is no real reason to do so at that point.

Subject: Reporting Battery Status When Charging, Does It Give False report Too?

Hi, list.

I have IPhone6Plus With IOS9.02.

When I charge the phone, it charges very fast, usually one and a quarter minute
for one percent. I charge it until it says:

“100 percent battery power, on AC power.”

Is it a bad practice to keep it charging even after when the phone says 100
percent?

It charges very fast until 100 percent, however, it takes forever to say “100
percent bettery power, on AC power.”

Once the phone says 100 percent, is it ok for me to keep it charging until it
say on AC power, or should I unplug it just as soon as it reaches 100 percent
mark?

Thanks much for your help and I am sorry if I sound vague.

Re: Reporting Battery Status When Charging, Does It Give False report Too?

2015-12-04 Thread Jonathan Mosen
The iPhone battery charging technology is very intelligent. If you leave the
iPhone plugged in for a prolonged period, it will trickle charge to avoid any
damage to the battery. A lot of people think that it's necessary to let the
battery run down and fully charge again on a regular basis, and while it's a
good idea to do that from time to time to calibrate the battery, you don't have
the memory effect that used to be common in older battery technologies.

So as a rule, the best idea is not to let the phone fully discharge on a
regular basis if you can. And the trickle charging technology means it really
won't hurt if you leave it plugged in for some time.

Reporting Battery Status When Charging, Does It Give False report Too?

When I charge the phone, it charges very fast, usually one and a quarter
minute for one percent. I charge it until it says:

"100 percent battery power, on AC power."

Is it a bad practice to keep it charging even after when the phone says 100

It charges very fast until 100 percent, however, it takes forever to say

Once the phone says 100 percent, is it ok for me to keep it charging until

percent mark?

Thanks much for your help and I am sorry if I sound vague.
