RE: How to Fix iOS 8.3 Missing App Store Password Settings
Must be nice, I just can’t get a touch ID, regardless of how long or many times I have tried it won’t work for me. Finally I gave up, it isn’t like I go anywhere to use it since I have been working from home. Re: THE MISSING APP!
Hey Jessica. I don't know if this is too late, but there is a Youtube video called Alex and Braille Input or something like that where he demonstrates these features. Everyone holds their devices differently (mine, for instance, is usually right around the bottom of my ribcage, well above my naval). It's certainly possible that the phone could be angled depending on the placement, particularly for women. Jessica, try holding the phone pressed against your stomach, or flat on your lap, or anywhere else you can think of. In other words, keep trying different placements until one works well. A way to lock the keyboard orientation would be nice, but I think you'll be able to find something that works until that feature is added. I apologize if anyone finds this topic offensive, but it really is a valid consideration that should be taken into account and, in my mind anyway, it's nothing to be embarrassed over. I hold the phone against my abdomon, about navel height, it is upright, and a pretty stable base to type on. I can imagine much higher being ahem! a bit less stable for the purpose. Hi Carol, If you ever can’t find an app you can use Spotlight search to locate it. You bring up Spotlight search by touching any app on your home screen and then swipe down with 3 fingers. Then type the name or part of the name of the app you are looking for in the search box. Spotlight will display the results and if the app is in a folder it will say the app name followed by the folder’s name. You can open the app from there, but at least you also know which folder to check. I still don't see how the phone can switch like that, so long as it is kept relatively still. Remember that the orientation is in relation to the ground, not to your body. For instance, if you were leaning back and had the phone on your stomach, the orientation might switch because, to the phone's sensor, it is at an angle. Re: THE MISSING APP!
This has been the issue all along, getting it to hold still or not keep switching modes. And without a detailed description of how she's doing this,... and then I had a thought, and it made all the sense in the world why it would wobble and already be at an angle; and am reluctant to say more and risk someone's sensibilities;. I hold the phone against my abdomon, about navel height, it is upright, and a pretty stable base to type on. I can imagine much higher being ahem! a bit less stable for the purpose. Interesting point. I've found that, if it moves, you can still get it back into the portrait mode easily enough by turning the phone the way it should be. I tend to hold my phone so that I can use the away mode, so it works for me. Personally I think MBraille is so much more useful that I quite often don't use the onscreen version and just copy and paste into edit fields afterwards. Anyway, if it's a problem for you, by all means say so as it may be a problem for others too.
