Re: Favoriting TV Channels Using the NFB newsline TV Listings

2021-02-04 Thread Holly
Andy:

Just go into TV favorites. I think there may be a button to ‘add a favorite’,
but it has been awhile since I did this. Go down the list of channels and
check the box of the station you want, then make sure you click the ‘save’
button when you are done. The ‘save’ button may be at the top of the page.

Favoriting TV Channels Using the NFB newsline TV Listings

2021-02-04 Thread Andy Baracco
Because of the accesibility challenges with the TV Guide mobile app, I started
using the TV listings on the NFB newsline app.
I am having issues with adding channels to favorites. I did one, but it was
pretty much by accident. Can someone explain how to do this?

Andy

RE: how to change nfb newsline tv listings

2020-11-22 Thread Richard Turner
If you are talking from the Ap,
Go to page 2 in the app, which is the Information Sources screen.
Select an item you want, be it a newspaper or magazine, etc.
Open the one you want, in the right hand upper corner there should be an Add
button.
Double tap that and then go back to page 1 in the app and it should be there.

You can change your favorites listing with the app on your computer. I don’t

Apparently, you can only change that through calling into their system and
doing the TV listings setup. That is kind of dumb on their partYou could contact
them through the support and feedback button on page 4 of the app, but it will
probably be faster to use their phone system.

Re: Tv listings app for comcast?

2015-01-01 Thread David Cleveland
No I have not tried that customize feature. I generally just look at the
channel lineup and scroll through until I find the channels that I'm interested
in. This app is actually designed to control a remote control device but I find
it very helpful tips for getting channel listings.I would also highly recommend
the TV Guide app for looking up TV listings. It is not totally accessible but
it's pretty usable.

One solution to this is to use NFB Newsline, which has good tv schedules which
you can filter for your favorite channels.

Xdoes anyone know of an app that lets you get access to program information
for the channels on Comcast TV? We recently got the X one, and the remote app
is accessible. But the talking guide that you can access is so slow as to be
ridiculous. And it often doesn't work right anyway. I have hopes for the
future, but in the meantime, I need an efficient way to see what is on
various channels. Since they PBS app isn't working, and I watch PBS, I was
fairly discouraged. But I wonder if there isn't some other app, which may
even have filters, where you could filter down and have your favorites that
you like and see the programs that will be on.

David, can you tell me who the developer is for this app? I did not see an app
with that precise title. I did see one that talked about Netflix and Roku, and
another one. That one didn't have very good ratings. Anyway if you could offer
who the developer is that would help. Thank you.

tv listings in canada

2014-12-29 Thread Holly Anderson
Hi all. I’m wondering what people in Canada are using for tv listings? I have
tried so many apps and none of them are working for me. Tv guide mobile showed
the most promise, but it doesn’t have the particular provider I need. They
have shaw direct here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

RE: TV Listings

2013-07-23 Thread Myrna Votta
Hi,

I have been using Dijit for about 9 months and find it extremely helpful.
My provider is Time Warner and Dijit will list most of the channels. The
only one that it doesn't list that I really wish it would is the Halmark
Movie channel. It does list the Halmark channel, but not the Halmark movie
channel.

I just had a look and came across a free app called Yo.TV. I downloaded it
and picked Bell TV as my provider and I was able to read a lot of listings,
the app seems to have potential. A Few times it became a bit sluggish and
I'm not sure if that is because it was loading stuff or for some other
reason. I rarely watch/listen to the TV, but it is free so you might want to
check it out. Here is the link:

Is there an app that will show you listings of what is on tv now and in the
next few hours for all of the channels, similar to the preview channel on
the tv? If it matters, I have Time Warner cable.

I don't want to have to select each channel seperately and be sent to a
secondary page in order to see what is on that channel. I'd like a list that
shows all channels and what is currently on them and what is upcoming next
hour, etc.

Is there an app that will show you listings of what is on tv now and in
the next few hours for all of the channels, similar to the preview channel on
the tv? If it matters, I have Time Warner cable.

I don't want to have to select each channel seperately and be sent to a
secondary page in order to see what is on that channel. I'd like a list that
shows all channels and what is currently on them and what is upcoming next
hour, etc.

RE: TV Listings

2013-07-22 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi Sieghard,

I actually found that one last night and tried it out. It works quite well.
When it gets slow, I found that was because it was searching the database.
I set it for Videotron digital in English and it gives me both French and
English channels. I guess I can't get away from French in Quebec. (grin)

Thanks

Hi Ron,

I just had a look and came across a free app called Yo.TV. I downloaded it
and picked Bell TV as my provider and I was able to read a lot of listings,
the app seems to have potential. A Few times it became a bit sluggish and
I'm not sure if that is because it was loading stuff or for some other
reason. I rarely watch/listen to the TV, but it is free so you might want to
check it out. Here is the link:

Re: TV Listings

2013-07-19 Thread Tom Lange
Hi,
NFB Newsline is great for that sort of thing. But if you're not a subscriber
and don't care to, you could always try the

Dijit

app, which works okay, too.

nfb newsline ought to work for you for that. You can also access newspapers,

Is there an app that will show you listings of what is on tv now and in the
next few hours for all of the channels, similar to the preview channel on the
tv? If it matters, I have Time Warner cable.
I don't want to have to select each channel seperately and be sent to a
secondary page in order to see what is on that channel. I'd like a list that
shows all channels and what is currently on them and what is upcoming next
hour, etc.

Re: TV Listings

2013-07-19 Thread Chris Chaffin

The best way to do this with the TV Guide app is to put the channels you watch
in your favorites.
This makes looking to see what is currently on and coming on very quick and
easy.
This is what I did, and I actually like the TV guide app better than NFB
Newsline. The only reason being, the NFB Newsline app only puts one channel on
the screen at a time, where the TV Guide app list them all out on a single
screen.

Just my opinion.

TV Guide will show that, but you will probably have to select channels for
favorites or you will be flipping screens. There's only so much that will fit
on one screen.
