Hello,

I came across this site after listening to some demos of speakers on YouTube.

Not sure whether it os use to anyone but if you like take a look at:

http://switcher.oluvsgadgets.net/

There are recordings of various speakers and it is recommended to listen to
them with headphones.

I know these things are subjective but worth a look I think.

RE: The bluetooth issue people are experiencing, it's not just bose

2020-01-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
To me a small loss of sound quality in this would be perfectly acceptable given
the fact that at $299.99 the Bose neck speaker is 5 times as expensive as the
other one.
Of course that exact same one you provided the link for and which after
applying the $10 coupon is $59.99 costs $188 on Amazon Canada, I just don't get
it sometimes.
But I found another on Amazon Canada which even has FM Radio and which
otherwise sounds quite similar for $29.99 or something like that and I may give
that a try. I think the concept is not bad, but I certainly would never ever
spend that much on any Bluetooth headset/speaker and here in Canada the Bose is
$399 Canadian which is actually pretty much exactly what $299 US is given the
current exchange rate. I just realized that it's even on sale for $299 Canadian
on Amazon Canada right now, but that is still way too much, if it were $149.99
I would probably consider it. The only headset I'd spend $300 or $400 on would
be if Sonos finally comes up with a high quality headset which acts as its own
Sonos device/player and which preferably would also have Alexa/Google Assistant
built in. Maybe 2020 will finally be the year when they'll release it.

Hi,
I know I’ve argued this point on this and other lists many times.
But what I’m about to tell you just feeds my argument.
Anyway, last month, I purchased a Tribit Storm Box BT speaker on
Amazon, which works perfectly, how it should, speech and sounds and
music coming out of it instead of the phone’s speaker.
For Christmas, I received the Tribit X-Sound Go (which I asked for as
a smaller option to the storm box, thinking oh, it will work, having
speech, audio, and sound coming out of it instead of the phone’s
speaker.) Darn if I didn’t pair it today, and it acts JUST like the
bose soundlink micro and the Bose soundwear, with speech coming out
of

the phone (blah) and music (if I happen to be using the speaker for
music and not just games like I often do) coming through the speaker.
So I don’t think the problem is bose or even high end speakers,
because this xSound Go cost $29, and the storm box (the one that
works

right) cost $45. So I’m curious what the bose speakers, the
SoundBlaster Roar, The Pocket Kick, and now the Tribit XSound Go all
have in common that the other Tribit Storm Box, the UE Boom, the
Oraolo go, and the Zulu audio don’t have. I’m very confused,
because
there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason why some speakers
behave
properly (storm box, etc.) and some don’t (bose, SB Roar, X Sound
Go,

etc). under iOS 13. Curiouser and curiouser.
I will let apple know, and I will also contact Tribit to see if
there’s a firmware update.
I know some of you guys like VO and system sounds coming through the
phone’s speaker, but quite frankly, I can’t stand it. I have a
really
hard time hearing VO, because when a BT speaker is connected, you
lose

the ability to adjust VO volume, my rotor’s already at 100 percent.
And I don’t know, I just don’t feel like restarting my device 5 6
and

7 times a day or more is very healthy, just to be able to play my
games or whatever through a BT speaker.
Anyway, those are my observations, take them as you will. :)

Re: The bluetooth issue people are experiencing, it's not just bose

2020-01-06 Thread Moop Curran

Hi,
Yes, but I enjoy the speaker more, because I can still have the somewhat
private setting of a speaker without the bulkiness of a headset.
That’s why I like the wearable neck speaker, you can get the big loud
sound of a speaker without cancelling out what’s around you, and
it’s still somewhat private because it’s around your neck.
I’m sorry, it’s kind of hard to explain, lol. The neck speaker I use
(or used to use before iOS 13 messed it up) it’s kind of a cross
between a headset and a speaker system. Applevis has a review of it,
it’s the Bose SoundWear companion.

Hi,
I know I’ve argued this point on this and other lists many times.
But what I’m about to tell you just feeds my argument.
Anyway, last month, I purchased a Tribit Storm Box BT speaker on
Amazon, which works perfectly, how it should, speech and sounds and
music coming out of it instead of the phone’s speaker.
For Christmas, I received the Tribit X-Sound Go (which I asked for as
a smaller option to the storm box, thinking oh, it will work, having
speech, audio, and sound coming out of it instead of the phone’s
speaker.) Darn if I didn’t pair it today, and it acts JUST like the
bose soundlink micro and the Bose soundwear, with speech coming out of
the phone (blah) and music (if I happen to be using the speaker for
music and not just games like I often do) coming through the speaker.
So I don’t think the problem is bose or even high end speakers,
because this xSound Go cost $29, and the storm box (the one that works
right) cost $45. So I’m curious what the bose speakers, the
SoundBlaster Roar, The Pocket Kick, and now the Tribit XSound Go all
have in common that the other Tribit Storm Box, the UE Boom, the
Oraolo go, and the Zulu audio don’t have. I’m very confused,
because there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason why some
speakers behave properly (storm box, etc.) and some don’t (bose, SB
Roar, X Sound Go, etc). under iOS 13. Curiouser and curiouser.
I will let apple know, and I will also contact Tribit to see if
there’s a firmware update.
I know some of you guys like VO and system sounds coming through the
phone’s speaker, but quite frankly, I can’t stand it. I have a
really hard time hearing VO, because when a BT speaker is connected,
you lose the ability to adjust VO volume, my rotor’s already at 100
percent. And I don’t know, I just don’t feel like restarting my
device 5 6 and 7 times a day or more is very healthy, just to be able
to play my games or whatever through a BT speaker.

Anyway, those are my observations, take them as you will. :)

2020-01-01 Thread Richard Turner
The Logitech H800 is available from a lot of sources, Amazon, Best Buy,
Walmart, etc.
I'd recommend comparing prices.
Our local Best Buy had them for $61.99. amazon had them for $59.99, but since
I could just go and pick them up I chose to get it from Best Buy.
Walmart, on the other hand, had a price of $72 I think.

After getting my personal set, I requested one for work since I use Jaws and
having wired headphones gets old very fast.
Since I am not on the computer constantly, a single charge gets me through a
couple of days.

HTH,

Richard

That's exactly what I am thinking. Bluetooth is pretty slow, so the

The Bose speakers not playing voice over when using IOS 13 is one
reason why I'm staying on 12.41.

Re: The bluetooth issue people are experiencing, it's not just bose

2019-12-27 Thread Richard Turner
Well, maybe you can ask if they are using Airplay.
When I was using an Airport Express device to play my iPhone over our stereo,
the voice stayed on the device, and the music, or book, played through the
speakers.

The bluetooth issue people are experiencing, it's not just bose

2019-12-27 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I know I’ve argued this point on this and other lists many times. But what I’m
about to tell you just feeds my argument.
Anyway, last month, I purchased a Tribit Storm Box BT speaker on Amazon, which
works perfectly, how it should, speech and sounds and music coming out of it
instead of the phone’s speaker.
For Christmas, I received the Tribit X-Sound Go (which I asked for as a smaller
option to the storm box, thinking oh, it will work, having speech, audio, and
sound coming out of it instead of the phone’s speaker.) Darn if I didn’t pair
it today, and it acts JUST like the bose soundlink micro and the Bose
soundwear, with speech coming out of the phone (blah) and music (if I happen to
be using the speaker for music and not just games like I often do) coming
through the speaker. So I don’t think the problem is bose or even high end
speakers, because this xSound Go cost $29, and the storm box (the one that
works right) cost $45. So I’m curious what the bose speakers, the SoundBlaster
Roar, The Pocket Kick, and now the Tribit XSound Go all have in common that the
other Tribit Storm Box, the UE Boom, the Oraolo go, and the Zulu audio don’t
have. I’m very confused, because there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason
why some speakers behave properly (storm box, etc.) and some don’t (bose, SB
Roar, X Sound Go, etc). under iOS 13. Curiouser and curiouser.
I will let apple know, and I will also contact Tribit to see if there’s a
firmware update.
I know some of you guys like VO and system sounds coming through the phone’s
speaker, but quite frankly, I can’t stand it. I have a really hard time hearing
VO, because when a BT speaker is connected, you lose the ability to adjust VO
volume, my rotor’s already at 100 percent. And I don’t know, I just don’t feel
like restarting my device 5 6 and 7 times a day or more is very healthy, just
to be able to play my games or whatever through a BT speaker.
Anyway, those are my observations, take them as you will. :)
