But I usually don't want to be as generous as their preselected amounts
suggest. Lest folks start hastling me, I will tip well, especially if I get
great service.

It actually only appears to be a problem for leaving a custom tip. You can
still pick one of their pre-selected amounts.

Chaney, I’m not certain I completely understand your question. I can tell you
that I had scheduled a ride in advance which actually occurred two days after I
scheduled it. The price that I was charge was the price that I paid. I hope
this makes sense.

RE: Uber question.

2022-09-05 Thread Richard Turner
As far as I understand it, and from when I used it a while back, their prices
change based on demand. So, if the time you picked shows low demand, the price
is lower. If on Wednesday, the demand has gone up, the price will go up.

The best thing to do is read their terms and conditions carefully as this kind
of thing ought to be included there.

Re: An Uber Question

2021-11-07 Thread Joseph Hudson
Whenever I am using Uber, I normally have my live location turned on however,
sometimes this does not work. I am also messaged with the driver or called the
driver and told them where I am standing.

Re: An Uber Question

2021-11-07 Thread Kathy Brandt
If call or message driver doesn’t show up underneath the driver name and car
make/license number, once known who it will be, you can click to meet at a pick
up point, double tap on that, and you will see the options to call or message
driver.

Re: An Uber Question

2021-11-07 Thread Kathy Brandt
In Lyft you can write a note to the driver when setting up your ride. with Uber
you can do so after the driver has been assigned. In either app you can call or
message drivers once you have the name of somebody. In Uber there is a way to
share live status of your location, which you can turn on or off. Since I don’t
have anything in process I can’t reconstruct how to do it..

Re: Uber question

2019-07-17 Thread Kathy Brandt
After inputting your destination and double tapping on search, your choices
come up. You double tap on the one you want, you get a list of your different
options. You double tap on the one you want, like Uber eggs, double tap on the
bottom right corner where it says confirm Uber X. Ven you are asked for
confirmation of your pick up spot: this is towards the top left of the screen.
If the address reads as you would want it, that’s great. If not, you edit, and
double tap the confirm button towards the bottom right corner. That’s it.

Re: An Uber Question

2017-02-04 Thread Kathy Brandt
The last two times I have had a trip, I did my rating from the email of my
receipt. You have to know though that if you were doing this on a device, you
have to go to the bottom of the message where it says "load more images" since
otherwise the links won't show up under where it says rate driver. Then, you
have to know, which I found out just by trying it, that the very first link
equals five stars, and descends from there; you have no way of knowing from the
link itself. I have actually written to corporate by hardcopy mail about some
things that have displeased me regarding how things have been with the app. I
don't like that I can't leave comments anymore, and have to hijack other help
topics from with in the app, finding one where I can input text, to make my
comments, including not liking that the feature is gone.

An Uber Question

2017-02-04 Thread Noe Villeda
Hi all,

I have an iPhone 6s with the latest I O S update.

Has anyone noticed there's no longer an option to rate a driver in the Uber app?

A friend told me you could rate them from within your Uber receipt, but I can't
figure out how to do it either online or with the iPhone.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Re: Update on my Uber Question

That is actually not Uber's official policy. Some drivers want you to do
that so they can gain another booking fee, most drivers however will
wait for you if you ask, without you having to request another trip. The
latter option was endorsed by an Uber customer service agent.

Update on my Uber Question

2016-10-26 Thread Sarai Bucciarelli

Sarai D. Bucciarelli www.linkedin.com/in/SaraiDBucciarelli

Hi guys:
Just thought I’d give an update. Remember when I asked how to handle Uber and
multiple errands? Well tonight, I had an emergency, and got to put that in to
play. Here is how it works, according to my driver. If you set a destination,
and want to make a bunch of stops between your pickup location and the end
destination, that is fine. You can keep the trip going. Now, where it gets
tricky is if you want him to wait at your end point, and then resume the trip
to another place, he ends the trip, and you immediately request another one
while with him, and set a second end destination. He can then pick up the trip
and you can keep him. If you do not do this, then he has to pickup the next
Uber request. He cannot deny it, and wait for you. So, I hope this helps.

Hi guys:
I've only used Uber to go from point A, to point B. My question is can

you use Uber to run several different errands at once without having to

call
for multiple trips? If so, how can you do this in the app, then find
the

Uber driver once you exit your stores?

As an example, I call Uber, want to go to the grocery store, will be

there
only 5 min to grab milk and bread. Then, I want to go to CVS to run
inside

and pick up an RX. Then I want to call in an order to Beef O'bradys for
takeout. I'd then have to walk inside the restaurant, pickup food, get

back

in uber. Then I want to swing through the Starbucks drive through to

pickup

a large tea. Then, return home. This is an example, but I don't want to

have

to call an Uber after each trip. For one thing, probably a 15 minute

wait..

and my food will get cold!

From what I read about Uber, the drivers can start to get in trouble if they
don't accept more than a certain percentage of calls. I thought I heard one
of my drivers get another one when I was almost home once on a busier day,
but luckily it seems to not happen too often.

actually, they can get calls while they are driving you.
This has happened to me.
Even the customer has called the driver and asked where they were.
Being that this call was through the car speakers, i could hear both sides
of the call.
The driver explained that he had to drop me off and he would come to get

I find lyft to be a little cheaper. Also, if you have some partial vision,
lyft tells you the color of the car in addition to the make, so if you have
enough vision to determine color you will have an easier time identifying

What Uber service were you taking? A driver said they couldn't get any
other calls while they were already on a trip - I was using Uber X.
Maybe they were using two ridesharing services at the same time?

actually, they can get calls while they are driving you.
This has happened to me.
Even the customer has called the driver and asked where they were.
Being that this call was through the car speakers, i could hear both sides
of the call.
The driver explained that he had to drop me off and he would come to get
them.

No, she just didn't want to wait around for you. An Uber driver cannot
get another call while they're already on a trip. Instead of lying, she
should have just said she wasn't prepared to wait.

No, it isn't, but that depends on how long the trip is, but it shouldn't be
that expensive.
Give it a try next time you have a ride, and let us know what happens.

My wife gets some of her best customers this way. They tell her it’s a round
trip, or multiple stop ride, and she will not except any more trips while on
that one. She also had cards made, so she can give her clients a flat rate
instead of having uber get a piece of her pie.

Re: an Uber question

2016-10-10 Thread Mika Pyyhkala
Hi,

Yes, you can readily do this.

You can keep editing the destination as you add extra stops. Note
that once you click on a new destination, there is one ok button you
have to tap on in order for it to update the trip destination.

You also want to tell your ddriver not to accept any trips that the
system sends them thinking that you are going to end the trip at the
next destination.

I have only had one driver not want to do this, i.e., he did not want
to wait. But 99% of the time, the driver will wait for you at each
stop.

Best,
Mika

2016-10-10 Thread Deb Lewis
Actuall how I do this is to change the destination when we reach the
first one, the driver just presses OK, and the new map comes. Of
course I explain when I get in that I'm going to do this, but this way
they get all the information for each place. So as you approach the
destination, click on Destination, and enter the new one. The driver
just has to confirm accepting it and you're off and running to the
next one. This also makes your receipt more accurate.

I have tried this, and the woman said if I get a call while your inside, I
got to go.
Needless to say, she split just as soon as I got out of the car.
So, I think it is up to the driver.

2016-10-10 Thread Chris Judd

Sarai,

Here is what I do. I request the uber, and then if I have time, I tell the
driver that this will be a round trip. I say just keep the trip going, and
don't complete the trip till we get back to my house. That usually works.
