Re: Want to syn just contacts between new Ipad 3 and Mbp15.
Ok, I am now guessing. You could try turning your rotor to containers and vertical flick to the message list before using the horizontal flicks. This should not make a difference, though, as VO starts wherever you placed the focus by touching the display. I hope to acquire an iPad later this year as I will need it for my research, but I haven't done so yet. Yes, I spent some time in the VO practice area, I remember you suggested this a while ago when I was practicing on another Pad--this one is now mine, so am setting it up from the box, literally.I don't know why a horizontal finger flick does not take me through the message list as you say it should, unless I need to split-tap on the list to interact or select with it. Re: Want to syn just contacts between new Ipad 3 and Mbp15.
Remember, go to settings, general, accessibility, VoiceOver, practice area, and touch the middle of the display, to practice your gestures. IOS will announce each gesture and tell you what the gesture does. Practice until you consistently perform every gesture correctly every time. Spending the time and frustration now doing this will save you lots of frustration in the future. When you are in the message list, horizontal single finger flicks perform the same function as VO right arrow on the MBP, moving you between messages. You can also slowly slide your finger down the list and each message conversation will be spoken. Double or split tap will open the message. When the message is open, next or previous will move you accordingly without performing any other function on the message. When in the message, move or delete will perform the task and move you in the direction through the list that you were already moving in, or will move you toward the closest unread message if you hadn't selected a direction with the next or previous button already. My experience is that a right and left finger flick does not move through the list of messages; I wish it did, I may have done it wrong. I'm careful to keep it in portrait, and looked at autorotation lock but didn't turn it on. There are some things which landscape will be useful for, especially if my sighted friends want to watch videos or use Maps or whatever. Re: Want to syn just contacts between new Ipad 3 and Mbp15.
Turning the rotor to containers will set up the equivalent of VO j I believe. On the iPhone, double or split tap on a message subject opens the message. Right and left single finger flicks move forward and backward through the list of messages, like VO left and right arrow on the Mac. Single finger vertical flicks perform whichever command is selected in the rotor. Remember, if your iPad tilts enough, orientation will change and your vertical and horizontal flicks will reverse. You can prevent this with rotation lock. Want to syn just contacts between new Ipad 3 and Mbp15.
Do I have to do these things through Itunes? I haven't set it up on the Pad yet, but my MBP uses Itunes all the time. I want to sync my FB, Twitter, and Mail contacts, and have already dded both Gmail and Icloud accounts to my pad's mail. I also have a bunch of questions about more efficient ways to scan down a long list of messages in Mail on the Pad. Does the next message," button delete or archive the message? Is there a way to just swipe down and hear just the subject lines, and what's the equivalent of "VO J," to jump to the message body? is this all done just by touching different areas, and a matter of muscle memory to remember which location things are on the screen? This is fun! • Mark BurningHawk Baxter • AIM, Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 • MSN: burninghawk1...@hotmail.com • My home page: • http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ Mark BurningHawk Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 Home page: Http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
