Re: bard app and braille files

2013-09-25 Thread Russ Kiehne
If you don't have a braille display, you would have to use a program such as
win bt to backtranslate them to text. Then you could use voice dream reader
to read the text files.

Hi Anna,
this is good to know. I think what I would probably do is convert a memo or
something that is in word to brf using duxbury for windows. then send it to
drop box and export it to BARD. I think this might be helpful given what some
have reported with regard to Braille and Pages after IOS 7.

Hi,

To zip anything on the mac, locate it in finder, press VO-Shift-M, and then
type C or down arrow to Compress, and press Enter. Once the zipping is done,
put the file in Dropbox. On your phone, find the file in the Dropbox app and
double-click. It may take a while for the file to be copied to your phone. When

When the copying is done, the Export button in the lower right corner of the
screen will be available instead of dimmed. Double-tap it. Then double-tap
Add to BARD Mobile, which will be one of the options.

Hi,

You're welcome. And if you have a braille book on your computer that has more
than one volume, zip all the volumes together before you put the book in
Dropbox. You can import unzipped braille volumes into BARD Mobile via Dropbox,
but if you do, each volume will be considered a separate book. If all the files
are zipped, BARD Mobile will treat the result as a single,

Best,
Anna
 multi-volume book.
