RE: deleting a book from device in Audible

2018-09-27 Thread 'Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.' via VIPhone
When I tried deleting books from my device within Audible last night using the
technique below as I understand it, it didn’t work.

What I found did work was the usual, of tapping the Delete button at the top of
the page, then going to the book title I wanted to delete, swiping right to
left once, and tapping after the announcement Delete this book. At this point,
a brief pause was followed by a second announcement, the same as the first one
I tapped on, Delete this book. Note, this was not following a second swipe
right to left, just a double tap on the initial Delete button that prompted
this announcement. This worked well, on multiple books.

In short, it seemed in my experience that the right to left swipe after the
initial double tap on Delete this book, wasn’t necessary, and in fact
undermined the effort..

At least, that’s how the experience seemed to me.

I’m running the latest iOS on an iPhone 7, with the latest Audible app.

Hope this helps, doesn’t confuse, and isn’t wrong in others’ experiences.

Keith

You always had to tap the delete button at the top first, the one I call the
Master Delete and which is one swipe left of the Refresh button.
Previous to when this started you could then touch a book title, flick left
once and tap delete and the book was gone. Now all you have to do is tap the
second delete button, but it is not necessary to flick back to the book title
first, once you activated the first delete button to the left of the book title
just flick left once and double tap on that delete button and the book is gone.
I usually use touch/explore instead of swiping to find the book I want to
delete, once there I swipe left once to delete, double tap, then swipe left
once more to the second delete button which now showed up and I double tap it.

Thanks all. That delete process is not intuitive. Like someone described, I
had to double tap the delete button at the top, then flick left from the title
to the delete book button, After double tapping that, I had to again go to the
title and now flick twice to the left to get to a second delete button to
double tap. It must be some sort of confirmation button, but the labelling
makes it seem redundant. Just wish I could flick up or down to get to a delete
option. Oh well. Thanks for helping me get my device library cleaned up!

I had a similar problem deleting an book from within the Audible app on an
iPod. After you get the Delete this item showing up in the app, you double tap
it. This action moves you down to the book title. You then have to move back
up to the Delete this book and click again to actually delete the book.
I hope this makes sense!

As Sieghard explained to me:
Above the list of books you will see the “Delete” button. You need to double
tap on that first.
Go down to the books you want to delete and swipe from right to left and
double tap on Delete from Device
Then swipe left one more time and once again double tap on “Delete from

Works every time.

I had a similar problem deleting an book from within the Audible app on an
iPod. After you get the Delete this item showing up in the app, you double tap
it. This action moves you down to the book title. You then have to move back
up to the Delete this book and click again to actually delete the book.
I hope this makes sense!

RE: deleting a book from device in Audible

2018-09-21 Thread Ekstrand, Pamela A. -ND
Hi Robin,

On my iPad running IOS 12, between the Sorting By... button and Refresh button,
there is a Delete button. You need to double tap this in order to make the
Delete buttons show up after each book title. Once you have double tapped this
main Delete button, a Delete button will appear next to the Menu button after
each book title.

I hope that made sense.

Pam

Subject: deleting a book from device in Audible

In Audible, I like to delete a book from my device once I’ve finished reading
it. I see the delete button, but I cannot figure out in recent versions how to
tell it which book I want to delete. Anyone figured this out?
