Well I may have spoke too soon. Went back to watch more shows and now no
matter what I try to watch, it just says it's not available in the package I
have but I have the go big package free trial. Very buggy. It may be because
it's new.

2016-12-01 Thread Elise Ridout
Hi Terri,
After reading all the issues people had, I was expecting a horrible experience
on my phone. Now, mind you, I use a braille display so I'm not exploring by
touch and the like so I just moved around the screen. I know what kinds of
shows I like so it's easy to tell where they are. I know which channels I like
because I've watched them for years. There are apparently some things you can
watch on demand already it looks like but not many. At least one thing it
seemed like it was letting me play something old. Anyway, my only complaint is
there's no way to see by genre what's on but if there isn't really onde'mand
yet, then that might be why.
I may 'stick with it as I like you have no issue with antennas. As it is, I was
probably going to hook up one to get audio description as things like Hulu and
Amazon don't have it. I don't know if this new service does, but my locals
aren't included here in Oregon anyway.
Ia gree though. It's only the first day. It could be a lot worse.

I get my local fox channel, and my local NBC channel. Nobody will get CBS as
they haven’t signed on yet, I don’t watch anything on ABC, so didn’t look for

It's worth it if you want another Apple TV. As a service, it is not worth it.
Not until they fix this channel problem. Really, Clifton, just how are you
going to deal with 20 or 30 channels and your favorite? Are you going to
memorize all of those? Do you really think that everyone should have to do
that? Oh and what about on-demand programming? I did a search for "on demand"
and didn't get what I was hoping to get, that is a list of available on-demand
program.

Re: disappointed with direectvnow any other good live streaming options

2016-11-30 Thread Mary Otten
X you must be in an area where your local channels are actually owned by the
network. If you aren't, then you won't get those channels. And how did you know
that you were actually getting that channel? God knows it's not label. I guess
you're supposed to just memorize what's on all the channels so you'll know what
channel you're on. I am continuously amazed at the crap blind people will take
without complaining. Kind of reminds me of what black people used to put up
with.

Is there a way to look for on-demand shows by genre? I can not find one?

I get my local fox channel, and my local NBC channel. Nobody will get CBS as
they haven’t signed on yet, I don’t watch anything on ABC, so didn’t look for

IT looks like if you don't live in a market with local service, you can't live
Nbc Abc or Fox as far as I can tell from my scant perusal. I don't think I will
be keeping this as there seems to be no way to search for on-demand shows by
category. You could by network I suppose but what if I wanted to find all the
mysteries or dramas etc. Doesn't look do'oable or it's not labelled.

2016-11-30 Thread Gordon
So does this work like the first incarnations of the dishes that we had
back in the 90's? I live in Dallas and we get our local Fox affiliate.
So would someone in a market that doesn't have a local Fox station get
ours here? I remember having Direct TV back in the 90's and getting ABC
from one of the New York stations and CBS came from California.

Hi, Elise.

Comcast does offer a service called Stream TV, but it is only available
in five states. The URL for the Stream TV FAQ is

https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/cable-tv/stream-faqs

I can't answer specific questions about that specific service, as I know
nothing about it other than what is in the FAQ.

Also, my X1 box doesn't make any background noise that I'm aware of. I'm
wondering if you were provided with one which was either older or
perhaps defective.
