Hi Terry,

The One does work with the phone app. You do need sighted help to set it up
now though. Once you are set up with the account, and you have the One
connected, the app is very accessible.

You can see steps, distance, minutes of activity. You can also set silent
alarms.

Take care,
Lois

Hi Lois and everyone,
Does the FitBit1 communicate through the iPhone? Would I need a third party
app? I am interested in something that will count steps and will give me
good accessible information.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Unfortunately, the Apple watch counts steps by arm movements. If you walk
on a treadmill holding the rail or walk with a guide dog, or holding
someone's arm, the steps will not count.

I have a FitBit One that I clip to my waist or pocket. It counts steps very
accurately.

I love my Apple watch but not for counting steps.

Take care,

An Apple Watch. They are on sale at Best Buy starting at $249 which is the
price of a more feature packed fitbit and unlike the fitbit they are
accessible and work with the iPhone without needing third party apps.
Yesterday I logged over 3,000 steps just cleaning the house while wearing my
Apple Watch and I had not even taken my phone off the charger. As an added
bonus I got a phone call while making dinner and my phone was in the bedroom
so I answered the phone on my watch. The watch band on the Apple Watch also
fits better than the fitbit. They are notorious for falling off. Amazon even
sells little bags of accessories that you can put on your fitbit to help
keep it from falling off your arm because the issue is so prevalent.
The only downside for me is I'm getting attitude from Siri times three. My
Apple TV 4, my Apple watch, and my iPhone 6S+. If I get any more attitude
from Siri, Siri, and Siri I'm going to get an inferiority complex and start
thinking I'm no better than any other human being. Laughs!

Hi Kawal, the Fitbit has been discussed quite a bit on the list, if you
check the archives for Fitbit you should be able to catch up on some of
what has been posted especially since it's a unique name and you won't hae
to work your way through a lot of unrelated posts.
