iCloud and Message Rules and Folders?

2014-02-04 Thread Teresa Cochran
Hi all,

I'm wondering if iCloud mail accounts have a similar functionality to Gmail,
allowing syncing of message filters/rules across devices. Is it possible to set
up message rules on the computer and have folders created on an iDevice? I have
subscriptions to at least ten mailing lists, and I so don't want all those
messages in my inbox. For this reason, even given the weirdness of Mac OS X
Mavericks mail, I would happily stick to Gmail if this can't be done with
iCloud.

thanks,
Teresa

No,
they will go to the mailboxes you create on iCloud if you have created filters
for each email list you belong to.
This will sink across all devices you have.

Re: iCloud and Message Rules and Folders?

2014-02-04 Thread Alex Hall
That's what I was going to say. smile You can create rules on a Mac, but
those only sync as long as the mac is online. Truly device-independent rules
must be made from iCloud.com, not any one device. The process is accessible,
and, like Gmail, will sync to all your devices since the filtering happens at
the server level, not any one device.
