Since it seems that several people are having the same issue, should this be
reported to apple?

God bless!

Hi,

I'm having this issue as well. I'm running an iPhone 6 under iOS 11.2.5 with
an Otterbox Defender case. What kind of case (if any) of the other people with
this issue using?

Thanks,

Marshall

For the person who is having the issue, make sure your screen is clean and that
you don’t have a case which interferes with the area where the proximity sensor
is located which as far as I know is just above the cut in the glass where the
earpiece is.

I don't know why it is doing this, quite honestly, I figured it was just my
iPhone 6, it is getting old. But when it does it, take it away from your ear,
and if I can use this word in conjunction with a phone, caress the place that
goes against your ear a couple times quickly, and it will force the sensor that
is supposed to sense that the phone is against your ear to switch back to the
earpiece, and it should stay this time. I'm about to the point of doing this
caress before I even put it to my ear the first time, hoping it won't do that
switching in the middle of a call. I have more of a problem having it not
switch to the earpiece in the beginning.

speaker not turning off

2018-02-24 Thread Paul and Paula Jordan
Hi all. Is anyone having difficulty with the speaker randomly turning on
while the phone is at your ear. When it does this, I can’t always get it to
turn back to the ear piece even though I take the phone completely awayfrom
my ear and bring it back again. That speaker is really loud when it’s
against the ear, and besides, the rest of the world can hear both ends of
the conversation. Any help to resolve this issue is most appreciated. I’m
using and IPhone 7 running IOS 11.2.5. Thanks.

God bless!

Paula and Garçon

Re: iphone speaker not turning off after using dictation

2014-04-07 Thread Vicky Collins
Wonder why just activating Siri fixes things? But, thanks much,
as this works for me as well and is certainly much quicker than
what I was doing.

An easy way to fix this which has worked for me each time I have
done
it is to hold down the home button to activate siri, wait a
second and
then press home again. Activating siri and then canceling out
resets
everything back to normal. That is why using siri to do
something does
too. The helpful hint here is you don't have to do anything with
siri.

Just call her up! Then dismiss her.

I played around with things a bit, and am able to duplicate this

the lock button. And, the only way I've found to fix this,
short
of rebooting the phone, is to use Siri to turn off VoiceOver,
and

then turn VoiceOver back on with Siri or the triple click home.
Now, just using Siri, doesn't cause this speaker problem. But,
once it does occur, I do need to use Siri to turn off VoiceOver
to fix it, as for some reason using the triple click home to
turn

it off doesn't stop the speaker noise.
