I think Jed is referring to continuity which allows you to send a regular
text message from your iPad or place a regular phone call from your iPad and
it will use your iPhone to do this.

Hey all. On the same subject, when I selected my Mac to enable forwarding, when 
I went to my messages app to read the code to type in my iPhone, voiceover on 
the Mac crashed. I couldn't command tab or anything. I had to force shut down 
the computer by holding the power button. It all works now but have other 
people experienced this?

Not here when I set both my mac and iPad for forwarding a few days ago when I 
ran the beta on both iPhone and iPad.

I presume there's instructions that explain this, so I'd love to read them 
too.  Sounds like the system knows you have a phone connected with your 
apple id, so can forward through that;  and that being so, very clever; but 
would like to hear it from the hoarses mouth.
That would also eliminate iOs users without a phone to forward through, 
unless they used one of the google type services.  My next guess is that 
apple wouldn't forward through that kind of app/service anyway.

So we have a lotof good answers to dig for.

So ehre's the question, i figured out how to turnit on, but it needs a 
code from the ipad, and there is no code popping up.

Any idea how to find it?  It wansts a 4 digit code from the ipad.
