You should complain to Apple. I noticed as well that dictation sometimes I
sless than impressive, but writing to Apple is where maybe it will make a
difference if enough people complain.

I have noticed that recently using the dictation mode is not as accurate as it
used to be. It is inevitable that it will sometimes get it wrong, but for the
past few weeks it has certainly been less accurate than in the past.

Hi all,

I have noticed that sometimes when I dictate something, I am having trouble. I
was wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to make my dictation a lot
better?
Also, do I need to have any of the smart dictation settings set in the keyboard
settings?
Thanks for any help.

2022-11-01 Thread Gordon
Dictation seems to be going back and forth. When I first posted about
this out here when the release candidate first came out, dictation was
really bad. But then it cleared up later that week and was working much
better prior to 16.1 hitting everyone's phone. And now it's back to not
working so well. Definitely frustrating.

Yes, I missed that before sending out the email.
Blame the sender for letting that get by.

That is also why spell check is not enough, since that is a word, it would
never be caught.

Yeah right I understand your statements. But as ios16 00 01 02 and 03 were
fairly stable releases one did not expect ios16.1 coming up with new and

I have heard just about every major iOS update called the buggiest update ever;
the fact is they all have bugs and said bugs typically get less as time goes by.

RE: Login to Envision With Apple ID?

2022-11-01 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Yes, you have to provide your Apple Id password and yes, it is save. Actually
it is probably safer because you can choose for Apple to reveal your actual

you. Keep in mind that if you had already created an account/separate login
with Envision I would use that and if you forgot the password you can probably
request a password reset and change it. I sometimes use my Apple Id to log in
if that option is given and if I hadn't previously set up login credentials.
There is a chance if your lifetime subscription is connected to a separate
login you created at the time it may not show up if you log in using your Apple
Id.

Subject: Login to Envision With Apple ID?

Hi, Group.
I have lifetime subscription to Envision.
I have this in my iPhone8.
Now when I got iPhone12 this year, I installed Envision in iPhone12 too.
Now when I try to open Envision in iPhone12, it ask me to login. It gives me
several login options and one of them is to login with Apple ID.
My question is whether it is safe for me to login with my Apple ID?
Do I have to give my Apple ID password too?
Thanks!

I have heard just about every major iOS update called the buggiest update ever;
the fact is they all have bugs and said bugs typically get less as time goes by.

Hello all, for some reason I am not receiving sound when I receive new emails.
I get sound with text and other things. I have checked settings and nothing is
turned off. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I was told by the apple store that my speaker is having some issues but I
didn't think that this would cause me to not receive sound and it is only
happening with email notifications.

Thank you

RE: Having dictation problems with IOS 16.1.

2022-11-01 Thread Richard Turner
A few thoughts on this topic.

1. Are you dictating with earphones? If not, if VoiceOver reads what you
said, it could be entered twice.

2. Remember, most, if not all, dictation is now done directly on your phone,
no internet servers, which to me also means, far less power to get things
right.

3. speaking slower than normal seems to greatly improve accuracy.
