Alan,

I just connected my old SoundBrick Speaker over Bluetooth and launched Be My 
Eyes and everything came through the speaker just fine.

 

You may need to go into the Bluetooth settings and bring up the more info on 
your speaker and make sure the device type is set as a speaker, I don't know.

search function.

Note, it does say they do not approve the use of copyrighted material.

I had the same problem. I took several pictures and it said "failed to analyze 
picture". So I closed the app, then reopened it. Still the same. Then I 
uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, reentering all my data. I must have 
been connected to the Internet at least because I redownloaded the app from the 
App Store.

Now it says Be My AI access pending. That's a bit mysterious because it just 
said Be My AI before, nothing about access pending. But maybe when I do get 
access back, it'll work. If not, then I'll write to them.

If it does work this time, I'll let you all know.

I'm hoping to get my PA (personal assistant) ON THE PHONE TO MY 
AUDIOLOGIST (OR a colleague team member -  WHEN HE ASSISTS ME NEXT WEEK.


I think my iPhone sees both my hearing aid and my CI, but it won't pair 
with both of them at the same time. (It pairs with one or the other).


The 'nuclear option' is to forget perhaps all of one's other Bluetooth 
devices' settings, and then forget your hearing devices, before turning 
off/restarting
Bluetooth, and one 'should' then receive - when next trying to pair 
one's hearing devices - two pairing requests. (I'm not looking forward 
to that!)

VO volume in Apple TV

Hi all,
since updating to TV17 I have noticed the VO volume is quite soft.
If increase the volume it makes the TV volume very loud.
I can’t seem to get the volume to work separately to the TV like on the phone.
Any ideas?

For the past week, the jubilant iPhone 15 launch has been somewhat overshadowed by widespread reports of overheating. According to many users on X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, and Apple’s forums, the new handsets can get so hot as to be hard to hold. Apple has finally responded and assures a fix is on the way.



In a statement to media outlets, Apple is confident that the issue is related to software rather than the A17 Pro chip or titanium enclosure. The company has targeted three possible reasons for the overheating in some iPhone 15 Pro models:




Apple says iPhones “may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity.” That’s a fairly common issue with new smartphones but appears to have been exasperated with the iPhone 15 launch.



Some apps, including Instagram and Uber, that were recently updated to support iOS 17 have been overloading the A17 Pro chip’s CPU. Apple says it is working with affected developers on fixes that are in the process of rolling out.



A bug in iOS 17 that is “impacting some users” will be addressed in a future software update.




Apple insists that the overheating issues aren’t related to the A17 Pro processor, iPhone 15’s titanium chassis, or its updated internal design. The company also squashed a report from Ming-Chi Kuo that it could limit performance to keep the system-on-chip cool under heavier loads, saying it “will not be lowering the performance of the A17 Pro chip” as part of the planned fixes.



Apple began testing iOS 17.1 on Wednesday, though a fix could come as part of an iOS 17.0.3 update as well.

It depends on my daily usage, but usually over 60 percent most days if not 
70.
 If I am using it a lot for calls and streaming, it was at 50 or so. I think 
the first day I had it the percentage was at 42 when I went to bed, but I 
wasn’t paying attention as to where it started when I set it up earlier that 
day.

There is no such thing.  You really need to quit asking the same thing on 
multiple lists.  I know what your getting at and it isn’t possible to run one 
app to get access to all channels.  What you are wanting isn’t legal anywhere.

Thank you so much.  I did have screen recognition turned on.  Once I
turned it off everything went back to normal.

I hadn't ever seen the screen recognition setting in the rotor before
so didn't think to look at it.

I don't think your phone is too old. I don't think the image analysis
occurs on your phone. I'm pretty sure the image analysis takes place on
servers running GPT4.

analyze picture". So I closed the app, then reopened it. Still the
same. Then I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, reentering all my
data. I must have been connected to the Internet at least because I
redownloaded the app from the App Store.

Hi, 

 

I received the same message and contacted the developer.  They replied saying 
they knew there were some service issues with the app although they did not 
specify what service issues mean.  They then went on to say that if the issues 
persist then I should contact them again.  So far the app is still not working 
so I will be in touch with them soon.  

 

I am based in the UK but do not know whether the issue is related to any 
specific geographic region.

I tried a few years ago and needed an audiologist to help with setup. At that 
time my  experience was disappointing. Each time the Bluetooth connection 
activated for the hearing aids--which was often every few seconds--there were 
annoying spurious beeps. I called tech support for the hearing aid producer 
although they had no resolution. Neither did Apple support. Apparently there 
aren't enough hearing aide users who also use VoiceOver. They didn't seem to 
have any sense of urgency to resolve the problem. Aggravating!

I will try again in the next few weeks and I will report what I learn.

How to direct Be My AI Voiceover speaking of image analysis to a Bluetooth speaker?

Hi List,

 

I'm getting the Be My AI image results just fine on my iPhone 13 Mini
running iOS 16.7. What I'm unable to do is to get Voiceover reading the
results of that analysis out of an attached Bluetooth speaker so I can play
it for someone hard of hearing. I attempted copying the results to the Notes
app and can't figure out how to get Voiceover to come through the attached
speaker there either.

 

I would welcome any suggestions. It seems as if I need to add some sort of
audio output source to my rotor but I'm unaware that such a thing exists.

SE VOICE OVER SLUGGISH WHEN ON THE PHONE

New Home for iPhone12?

Hi, Group.
I got 15Pro now so I am giving away iPhone12.
I have removed it from my list of devices, I would reset it too, anything else 
I must do prior to giving the phone away?

i was so excited yesterday afternoon when upon opening the "Be my Eyes" app, I now have the "Be AI?! but it's not working here at my end either! They are rolling it out soon.

It could be a week, or a month, no date has been given.

I'd suggest writing them through the settings in Be My eyes, Feedback.

How does one get set up for Be my eyes AI? When I open the app I see a button 
that says, AI pending, but when I double tap it nothing happens.

I had the same problem. I took several pictures and it said "failed to analyze 
picture". So I closed the app, then reopened it. Still the same. Then I 
uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, reentering all my data. I must have 
been connected to the Internet at least because I redownloaded the app from the 
App Store.

Now it says Be My AI access pending. That's a bit mysterious because it just 
said Be My AI before, nothing about access pending. But maybe when I do get 
access back, it'll work. If not, then I'll write to them.

If it does work this time, I'll let you all know.

The only way I can deploy Siri is to press the physical Home Button and wait 
for the telltale haptic to give instructions.

Thanks for your and Feliciano’s replies. I think the results must be dependent 
on the particular Bluetooth speaker being connected. I have a Tribit MaxSound 
Plus Speaker and a Bose Soundlink Mini 2 speaker and I can not get either of 
them to play Voiceover. Instead, Voiceover always comes out of my iPhone 13 
Mini’s native speakers regardless of the settings under Bluetooth device more 
info.

 

Luckily, I put on my thinking cap and after confirming that the Tribit had a 
3.5mm headphone jack, I connected an audio patch cable to the Tribit, connected 
a 3.5mm to lightning adapter to the other end of the patch cable, and plugged 
it into my iPhone’s lightning port and this forced everything to come through 
the Bluetooth speaker. At least I have a workaround for the times I want 
everything to come through my Bluetooth speaker.

connected my Airpods Max headphones, launched Be My Eyes, and the description

Apple arcade

I just decided to subscribe to Apple one, because we both like the news and 
music etc. So now we have access to Apple Arcade which interests me not in the 
least. But my husband likes games, and we can’t figure out how to actually 
access Apple Arcade. Has anybody done that? It’s not an app. And if you ask 
Siri to do it he doesn’t help. So how do you access Apple Arcade and how do you 
access Fitness plus? I have an Apple Watch, and I do workouts there. But I 
don’t use Fitness plus. How does that work?  my husband googled for arcade and 
didn’t get much luck. Anyway, it seems like it should be obvious they should be 
apps that are downloaded like music is on your system even if you aren’t 
subscribe. But apparently not. Help!
