Vista 64 bit using WinVNC 4.1.3

2009-08-10 Thread Tim Kreps
I am currently trying to use WinVNC 4.1.3 to connect from an XP Pro machine to
a Vista Home 64 bit machine.

The viewer seems to connect to the server(I also tried this as User Mode as
some blogs suggest) as the password authentication comes up.  As soon as I
enter the password I get a message that the viewer was unexpectedly
disconnected...

Any solutions out there for wonderful Vista Home 64bit?

Win VNC Features

2008-05-12 Thread Tim Kreps
Are there any versions/methods to which allow the following features(?):
  1. WinVNC Windows intial startup size (I can scale a window with the mouse
afterward, sure, but I would like it to appear as a certain size. Currently
it's way to wide)

  2. Win VNC window's starting location (I have multiple monitors on my client
side, and have a many machines. This would include screen # and pixel starting
location.)

  3. Win VNC viewing location (currently the info I look most at is located on
the second screen of the VNC Server PC that I am viewing. Everytime I log on,
I currently have to use the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to move the
viewer to the second screen)

This functionality would be awesome! If WinVNC can't do this, does anyone
know a package that can???

Re: Would like to tell WinVNC how big the view window should

2008-04-23 Thread Tim Kreps
I'm not sure I'm a sleep, but I may not have clarified what I meant by the size
of the initial window.

Currently I am using 2 x Quadro 4 Channel cards. I am only using chanels
1-5. Channel 1 is defined at 1024 x 768, and all other chanels are 800 x 600.

I am launching VNC viewer on a PC with 3 x 24 LCDs. The resolution for each
is 1900 x 1024.

The VNC viewer window appears initially with the entire 1024 x 768 of the 1st
channel and about 1/4th of the first 800x600 channel. I was hoping to learn
how to limit the size of the initial VNC window so that it is limited to no
more than 1024x768 initially.

Then I was looking to be able to modify the initial starting location of the
WinVNC window as I will have 5 VNC windows at one time, and each machine has a
dedicated location on the 3 24 LCDs.

  Any help is appreciated.

Would like to tell WinVNC how big the view window should be, and where on my 3 monitors I would like the window to open

2008-04-18 Thread Tim Kreps
I would like to tell WinVNC the following:
  1. The dimensions in pixels of the initial WinVNC window.
  2. Which of my 3 displays the window should open on.(currently this works as
long as the viewer is pointed at a server with an inital display smaller than
mine, but this doesn't work if the PC with the VNCserver has a dispay bigger
than mine)
  3. Where on the screen in Horizontal and Vertical Pixels I would like the
window to open.

  Any help is appreciated.
