the export preset press uses acrobat 4 format. change this to

 transparency much better methinks

 Have tried this without luck.

Went to the printers (OfficeWorks are closest to me and are fine for
a few A4 / A3 copies rather than giant runs) with at least 4
different versions of the art : different acrobat formats,
transparency settings, recreated the original logo for importing -
 all with the same effect...

I am not an InDesign expert (as only used once), but I believe you should
be able open the Illustrator file directly in InDesign (native, don't PDF
it across??).

As a work around, you should be able to open the Illustrator native file in
Photoshop (don't PDF it) and set the incoming opening pixel size to a
suitable DPI for output and then save as a PSD photoshop image. It will
retain the transparency and can then be opened into InDesign (as PSD, not
PDF) for positioning.

Good luck,

To work around I open and rasterize it in Photoshop and save it as a
single layer (transparent background) in PDF format.

It places in InDesign and displays properly.

However when I print I get a variety of effects - mostly cutouts (box
shape around the lettering) or burn throughs.

I suspect something to do with transparency settings?

I've trawled the help files (how I miss a big set of dead tree

 Hi Antony,
Was very interested to read your message the subsequent suggestions
from
James Darren. I work with Quark also send the occasional file as a
PDF
to printers but actually prefer to burn to CD and save as EPS or native
Quark post to printer. Not a good solution but safer. I too don't trust
 PDF's.
Regarding the background. Seems to me like you need to convert the
lettering
to a clipping path (in Photoshop). This is the only way to remove those
white backgrounds that come into all PSD files saved for export. Go to
Help
in PSD and type in Clipping Path or go to:
 file:///HARD%20DRIVE/Graphics/Adobe%20Photoshop%207/Help/help.html
Could you send me the file?

Re: SMTP blocking by ISPs at the moment?

Yes... in a way.

Some ISP's (or all?, not 100% sure) will not allow you to send via their
outgoing mail server (SMTP) if you are not logged in through their network
(ie. dialup, etc).

I logged on to iiNet the other day via modem, and set up OE to access an
account with ca.com.au. Incoming (POP3) was okay, but outgoing (SMTP)
was not allowed due to this reason.

It stops malicious persons from redirecting through ISP's for spamming and
virus purposes (without being logged in which could be traced).

Metadata wil be the death of me yet.

Does anyone know (outside of Maclink Plus) if there's a way of re-writing
files en masse so they display their file extension?

Windows 2000 doesn't recognise the mac files I have without visible file
extensions - it gives them a generic windows icon.

If a file has a .extension it displays the file correctly, but the
freaking
thing then has the gall to _hide_ the file extension on the windows box.
 Talk about two faced.

I need the files to display correctly for my users who panic when they
can't
visuallly recognise their files. Maclink Plus Deluxe can translate files
and
attach file extensions, but it changes the creation date in doing so,
which
 once again confuses users.

Any thoughts, once again, gratefully appreciated.

 Cheers,
 Tobes.

Re: Bulk Emailing *To* Bigpond Accounts

2004-04-24 Thread Mark Scholmann
Sending to Bigpond is a problem we experience...

We have a lot of difficulty sending to our Bigpond customers (on our
mailing list).

Yet, if we were a Bigpond customer (we are told) then we wouldn't have
these problems as they would recognise us as one of their customers who
is sending the many emails across their own customer base hmm... not
fair!!

So, we also get told that Bigpond has a 600 msg / 10 minute / incoming
server limit. no wait... then they corrected with 400 msg / 10 minute
limit... so, we configured our system and did 75 msgs in 10 minutes and
still we're getting blocked.

All these email problems are compounded by the many different server set
ups that respond differently and not always as they should.

---

On a note about multiple msgs within each send out to another server. You
should be able to send out more than 1 at a time!, but what the maximum
is... depends on the receiving server, so you need to keep it fairly low to
get through everywhere.

On the reporting of error msgs due to bad addresses, etc... you should
receive notice in a single message regarding any that failed, but the
successful ones will get through. This is how our messages out are
returned by other servers, but I don't know if this is how we send it or
how other servers receive it that allows then to acheive this ?

Good luck on the email front!

Re: List overload

2004-04-22 Thread Mark Scholmann
Kat,

I agree that HTML has no place on email. IF I could set OE to do nothing
but PLAIN TEXT I would, but if I respond to a HTML email, it overrides
the PLAIN TEXT setting and sends HTML ah M$ does not
know what I want to do, hell half the time I do not know what I want to
 do ;o)

If you set OE to not respond using the format received and then set your
messages to Plain text (all in the settings window), then you will force
Plain text always.

I Disagree STRONGLY with removing sigs, they sit down the bottom of the
email, and some of us use them on all email to advertise our businesses.

Small, short sigs, with basic business info, yes but ASCII images... I
don't think so! :-)

While we are at it, could we change the list settings so that hitting
reply automatically sends to the list and not the OP ? (as some times I
forget and send to the OP only)

Should be a simple setting on the mailing list software... and yes, I
agree.

Re: Webpage cannot be found 3

2004-04-16 Thread Mark Scholmann
I think you'll find the reasoning of this issue, is that on a PC you can
access your local file system via a browser window. ie. D:\TEMP = local
drive D:, the \ is the PC folder separator and then folder TEMP.

So, on IE it determines that the http: request is the Internet and
therefore forces the correct slash /.

Handy, but, then IE is also doing a whole heap of on-the-fly changes to
filenames, etc that contain CAPITAL letters.

Well done for figuring that out (I assume you're correct).
Interestingly, the use of backslashes in URLs is an invalid practice.
When such invalid URLs are encountered, standards-compliant browsers
might choose to refuse to use such URLs or they may choose to 'fix' them
and try again. Some browsers may do this by 'escaping' the backslashes,
forming a valid URL that can be sent to the web server. The web server,
however, will probably not be able to use the URL because it doesn't
have a resource called uk\ Windows browsers might take a different
approach -- replacing the backslash with a slash -- because the
programmers have anticipated this as a special case of human error.

PCs obviously must translate this path correctly but Macs don't

So, PC browsers might contain a workaround that hides the mistakes. My
view is that while this is somewhat pragmatic for a Windows-only site,
it's not standards-compatible and merely perpetuates the web developers'
 error.

Re: The mystery continues.........

2004-04-13 Thread Mark Scholmann
To dig deeper into the problem...

One of those slow-down points in-between the From and To servers can be a
result of the huge increase in virus attempts. At Lotterywest, we get
lots of virus attempts to our mail server, and we have extensive firewall
and anti-virus defences. The results of which lately has been a big slow
down in our ability to send out our weekly results. Each Saturday, we send
out around 20,000+ messages to subscribers of Lotto results. A result of
the bigger virus data files to check (our server checks all outgoing
messages!), is that our software virus checks are causing a bottle-neck out
of our system - with several days in delays for some customers depending on
our software, their server and position on the list.

We are switching over (soon) to an Appliance which is a hardware/software
combo, dedicated to packet filtering (virus checking, etc)... which should
see delivery times speed up.

Throw into the mix... companies like Bigpond see our 1000+ emails in a
night as Spam, so they block them.

Also, we now have customers referencing anti-spamming laws in regards to
removing themselves from our list. And that can be a challenge in itself
when they have changed email addresses (but receive forwarded mail), so
that our server doesn't recognise them anymore automatically. (Note :
Lotterywest has a double-confirmation opt-in only process of subscribing
customers to our Results Email Service.)

Phew... sounds like a bit of a venting... but it's getting harder to get
legitimate e-mails out the door! :-(

A few points:

Before we start, a packet is a little chunk that when combined make a
communication stream like an email, or a web-page. It's the lowest
logical level of communication on the Internet. (If you're a geek, there
are lower ones, but lets not go there...)

The Internet is a cooperative effort. What this means is that packets
that my computer sends out arrive at their intended destination only by
way of the cooperation of all of the networking equipment in between.

To illustrate this, here is a simplified trace route from my computer to
the WAMUG list server:

Re: Mac TO PC File Transfer

2004-02-23 Thread Mark Scholmann
If both are quite old computers (with no ethernet?, etc), you could set up
a null-modem serial cable (which could be another drama, trying to get
one?), and use a simple modem program (eg. Blacknight if it is still
around).

You can then set up a Zmodem transfer of files across the link, at the very
pathetic speed of about 115000 baud (about ~5-10k / sec... yes 'k'). You
can then work out that you may be able to transfer up to 500K per minute...
(if you are lucky).

I have done this to transfer about 50 MB's over a day or so (8100/110 to
PC)... and at the time it was the easiest and readily available means of
doing so. File formats (ascii, binary, etc) can be an issue sometimes?

Otherwise, I am sure there is some Network (appletalk) set up that would be
preferable !!

From Amiga days, where the use of screens was a feature (easy to isolate

a slighlty cluttered looking Mac screen (personal opinion)...

I like full screen applications if the switching to each app is fast and

Why can't they make both possible, have a full screen mode and a desktop

Acrobat 6 appears to be a direct port of the Windows XP version,
complete with cheezy icons. Since Windows applications love to fill the

default behaviour of Acrboat 6, both Reader and Full versions. For some
reason, it seems almost universally accepted among Windows users that

Re: WAMUG Warning notices

2004-02-05 Thread Mark Scholmann
My past experience with this issue... may be different now-days

If the subject line is something like Warning (23245244), then I am
assuming it's the quirky old Communigate Pro software that drives this
mailing list. It used to have a severe bug with the Warning messages, by
sending them out to anyone and everyone on the list (our own lists, that
is!).

We quickly put a server rule on to trap and remove these emails from
getting out, as 1) they did not represent the actual state of subscribers,
2) the system worked without them, 3) there was no option to turn them off,
4) etc.

In the end... happier customers... a bit more error processing behind the
scenes.

The new version of CGPro is better, but the owner of this list could rule
them out of existance.

I think it all relates to the ISP server responses being returned to the
CGPro server and the ISP's compliance (or non compliance) to email
standards. That is to say, that the CGPro mailing list was very particular
about the server responses and couldn't previously even handle MS Exchange
mail replies (yes, PC person... waiting for der's from Mac users! :-)

So, you have a mailbox full response and I think it thought it was a
major? Therefore, better send a message to warn the subscriber that it has
stop sending emails until they send a reply response to say they are
alive.

In the end, it should still function without sending out these messages...
as we determined that - if it really was bad, and you couldn't receive the
message, then you wouldn't be able to receive the Warning message... so,
why bother.

MarkS.

Re: Can Safari save Web Pages in different format?

2004-01-29 Thread Mark Scholmann
Sorry, not to answer your question but, in reference to IE on Mac and
Safari as browsers... I have found the following compatibility point...

We had experienced many issues with Mac's and our web site. It was after a
site update, our customers experienced many 'strange' page display problems
(in fact we still have these issues).

We are PC based. We purchased a Mac and when 'playing' around on IE and
Safari, etc, I suddenly noticed that the problems were not evident on
Safari. Through more trial and error testing of the code, we found that
the SPAN tags being used were not liked by IE or Netscape on the Mac,
although Safari seems fine with them?

So, we are looking at now being able to change the SPAN's to DIV's as a
quick fix (which does seem to work).
The code is still a mess (sigh!), but we are moving to a new platform,
which I have tested with the Mac and it all seems fine.

*** Any reliable stats on percentage of Mac users who use Safari.
Currently, it is not included in our Test plans for Browsers. I need some
evidence to include it, but would not know where to Mac-look for it ? Any
tips ?

 Dear WAMUGers,

I have finally taken the plunge and after 8 years of using OS 8.1 am now
in
the modern camp using OS X 10.3.2. So my learning curve is pretty steep
and
am currently experimenting with Apple's internet suite of Safari and
Mail.

I have found using Entourage from M$ easier than Mail, but then I have
been
using Outlook on both Mac and Win platforms for many long years. So I
guess
that familiarity did influence my opinion.

I have not decided as yet whether Safari has an edge over IE, so far
everything seems to be OK except that for some reason while using Safari
to
read my mail my whole computer froze, and all the cooling fans came on
(overheating I guess). There was nothing I could do except to shut down
and
reboot. I thought that application errors could not take down the OS!
Besides Safari, I also had Virex on and wonder whether this caused the
complete freeze. (Hardware is G5 running 10.3.2 and lots of RAM)

My question on Safari is: can it save a web page in the 3 formats
available
from IE - Web Archive, HTML Source and Plain Text?

 Many thanks for any comments.

(Onno, I'm glad I have bought a 17 solid state screen. It is so much
better
and I can now work on my spreadsheets with great comfort. Thanks for the
 advice.)

Regards to all and see you at the next meeting.

Re: Westpac spam scam

2004-01-18 Thread Mark Scholmann
Peter,

be careful... and not for fear of bank fraud!... many of the nonsical spams
that go on are mining for legit email addresses. If your email address
does not bounce back to their system then they can be confident that it got
through if you confirm the loop by replying, then you have probably
just made it onto their Platinum/Gold list of email addresses for sale.

If it is some sort of evil spam, then the reply address would have been
faked anyway, so no-one will see the response.

The bank web site scams have got to the stage where they were using the
faked domain address bug in IE (not sure of other browsers), which
allowed them to link to what looked like the real Westpac domain address,
and then they mocked up the Login page exactly. In the code we saw, the
input form fields had been simply changed to take the submitted values to
their own server.

So even if it is annoying to receive them, it's probably best to just set
up your filtering rules and ignore them!

Good luck,

Mark Scholmann

Re: OT a web page with 'live data

2004-01-18 Thread Mark Scholmann
Kathy,

if you are writing the program, then you can do a simple trick, which is to
use
IMG SRC=single_pixel_block_of_colour height=[TempValue*Scale]
width=[width_of_graph_bar].
The image is stretched upwards like a bar chart set a loop to display
many images across the page, based on the data. Set valignment to bottom,
an place in a table of something ?

The program could spit out the whole HTML web page required to display the
new data. This way, on the frequency you set for data streaming in, you
could run your program to read the data and build the new web page. The
web page then has a refresh command to update automatically at set
intervals.

As the program builds the chart, you could also set conditions for
critical temperatures or what-ever is required. This could change the
colour image to use, etc.

Another way, would be to convert the streaming data into XML format and
have a web page set up to read and display the results using XSL? or
what-ever displays XML data now-days? (Haven't worked on XML for a while).

So do I Phil. I had a v.expensive Nikon lens stolen from my truck

Midland police they said I might have a chance at the Cashies, so I
 hope you have serial numbers.

Unlike me, you have much more chance of recovery because it seems
camera gear of that sort is hard to fence locally so it goes east. (

Full description of Power Book, widely circulated won't go a amiss.
It will surface somewhere and the potential buyers should be made

Best of luck in the search.

all such domain invoices or suspect renewal notices can be directed to

Please be wary of domain name registration invoices doing the
rounds. One of my clients, a non academic organisation internal to
The University of Western Australia received a delivery in this
weeks mail that asked for a not to insignificant sum of money for the
registration of their domain name with in the commercial domain (so
 yourorganisationname.com).

This was professionally produced/printed document made to look like
an official tax invoice complete with perforated tear off payment
section and a list of payment options.

While the people issuing these invoices may argue that they are
simply using creative push marketing it is my personally held, so
non legally binding and therefor non libelous, opinion is that this
has crossed the border in to the realms of theft by deception. It
was only by chance that I was there assisting the purchasing officer
with a computer related issue when they showed me this account. I
immediately contacted the IT director of the organisation and after a
short discussion it was deemed this was not a legal invoice for
 services rendered or ordered.

Request for comments on web page ? (http://www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/results.cfm)

2003-12-01 Thread Mark Scholmann
Dear WAMUG'ers,

could I request assistance in testing a new page on our web site ?...
from a Mac perspective that is !

The page is - http://www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/results.cfm

We have removed our previous Lotto Kiosk page for a simpler text based
version, as the old page had many issues with Netscape and various other
interface problems.

I am looking for comments on anything not working, speed of loading,
general thoughts, etc...

Thanks to many on the list for previous input on a similar request! As Mac
advocates, you will be happy to know that I was finally given approval to
purchase a Mac for our test room. It is an eMac (white monitor -
all-in-one), which will be suitable for all our testing requirements. We
will be testing initially on IE5.2.2, until the stats show Safari
increasing in use.
It is no easy thing to get a Mac in a total PC / NT environment for
Government... so, hopefully we will be presenting better in future
revisions of our site. I will be dependent now on this list to indicate
when it is safe to upgrade my browser and OS... as I will need to maintain
the computer separate to our Infrastructure team! Yikes! 8-)

Re: EXCEL

2003-11-24 Thread Mark Scholmann
Tom,

you can make a simple Macro to copy a sheet, in a loop.
Here is a sample...

Sub CreateSheets()
'
' CreateSheets Macro

For sheetNum = 100 To 1 Step -1
Sheets(Sheet1).Select
Sheets(Sheet1).Copy After:=Sheets(1)
Sheets(Sheet1 (2)).Name = New sheetNum
Next sheetNum

End Sub
-

Put the above code in as a macro (look for the Macro Editor to do this).

Make sure you have 1 sheet ready called Sheet1.
Then run the macro and it copy that sheet 100 times.

The reverse loop is so that the new sheets come out ordered 1-100 (as
opposed to reversed).
The name of the new sheet is dictated by the New keyword. So change this
to whatever you like... it adds the number on after.

Good luck.

Re: Repeated frequently

2003-10-13 Thread Mark Scholmann
To list owner ?

The Warning messages are a method of the CGPro List server of maintaining
the subscribers. When a 'non-fatal' bounce arrives back to the mailing
list server, it has a function to send out a Warning message to prompt the
subscriber to respond. (You should also set the suspended time to the
minimum 1 hour). I think it also generates the message when the list is
Cleaned every set period of time, hence the multiple occurances.

I believe it is a (very) broken function, and unfortunately on the CGPro
List server it does not have an OFF option. We have placed a system wide
rule to trap the messages going out, so that no one sees them. They serve
no real purpose as the 'bounce' is still counted, so the list is still
maintained. Over several weeks we have a count of about 16,000.

Other things to trigger problems, are non-compliant server response from
the many various mail servers out there.
We had customers on 6 different lists, so they used to get multiple Warning
messages. Annoying!

Re: mice

2003-10-08 Thread Mark Scholmann
Adam,

all injuries are different, but I know of someone at my work who has had a
similar experience.

The person had to switch mouse hands for a while (using left instead of
right)... then, pressure pads under the wrist to assist with the correct
height and position of the hand... now, the person uses a track-ball
(upside down mouse). Although, you would think the extra thumbing around
would be annoying (* well, it is), but it is saving the wrist from
movement, and you can still get quite good control.
Not useful if you are into designing / drawing on the computer, as it
doesn't work that well. You don't get a continuous move across the screen
in one thumb... if you know what I mean.

Anyway, check for injury guidance from doctor/books/internet, as it all
comes down to your chair, monitor position, hand angles, keyboard position,
height, having rests, excercises, etc, etc...

Good luck,

 Hi All,

After working with computers for the last 15 years and working with
computers for 7, I have really started having problems with RSI in my
mouse hand. This has recently been compunded further by the purchase of
my awesome iBook and the use of its trackpad.

My question for the list is, what mice do you guys use or recommend that
are ergonomic enough to reduce the damage I am doing to my hand? I guess
the ultimate mouse I am looking for would have to also be portable so
that I can take it with my ibook, but not as important as comfort.

I would think there would need to be serveral fields
 in rating every retailer/support service.

I'd like to see customer service ratings, speed and
efficiency, if the job is done properly, if the
business in question goes out of their way to help
with extra areas, if they recommend good products, if
they have a wide range of products readily available
or if you need to wait 2 weeks to order something in
urgently. It would also possibly work better if it was
done in various catergories, retail hardware or
software, tech support, specialist areas so that
places that are really good for what they do don't
look worse off because they get rated down in one area
in particular. Its no good having someone who's really
good at rebuilding and backing up machines being rated
lower overall because they don't stock a large vaiety
 of games on hand.

I'd like to be able to read through comments on the
site too, maybe not listed with the ratings for the
business but an option to read through what other
people have to say about them, not just a rating of
1-5 or however it will be done, like Version Tracker
does for software. Often I think comments are more
 useful than ratings.

I think only accepting possitive comments would help
stop abuse, and perhaps letting each user only rate
each retailer once, allowing them to edit their
ratings, so if they have a bad experience and go back
for whatever reason and get served by somebody
different and find it to be really helpful they can
put the rating up. That would stop people voting for
the same place as being very poor multpiple times for
 a one off experience.

If you want a hand with this, Onno, email me off list,
I'm happy to help out, I think its a really worthwhile
 idea.

 Regards,
 Kelly

If you like the idea of a retail and support rating
  database, let me
know what kind of features this would have. What
  would you need to make
it useful for you and others. How would you stop
  abuse, how would you
rate organisations, how would you moderate the site?

try this -

if you had the numbers in A1 = 32 and B1 = 118 then in C1 put this

Then copy down against all other numbers and the result will be a

Oh, yeah... I forgot to mention...

when you have the complete list of formula based values... you will then
want to highlight and copy the whole column. Then Paste Special and set
the output to values. This pastes the data back in with only values and
no formulas.
Insert column next to matched numbers (eg. 33) and clean out the rest.

Re: Password problem

2003-09-11 Thread Mark Scholmann
From a PC user point of view...

Is there something different in the PPP specs on new Macs or something to
do with the way data is transmitted/received (character set?, etc) ?

I only ask, as I notice the bagging of iiNet on this list, but have to say
that after 7-8 years with them (on both Mac and PC) I can not say I have
ever encountered more than a reasonable period of down time due to some
specific reason. In the past 4 years I have had only a handful of engaged
signals (20 at most), with connection times ranging from 8 hrs - 70+ hrs.

I have an old dinosaur Mac 8100/110 , which I occassionally fire up to do
some things, and the connection still works on a Motorola 28K modem using
the old (original) PPP scripts.

I have friends with iMac's and a Mac laptop (ibook?), and I have helped
them connect to iiNet, with no problems of what I read on this list ?

I understand that the Support call centre may not always appreciate the Mac
customers.
Surely, there must be a simple reason for the connection issues ?... well,
certainly not ones that result in you having to purchase a Net Friendly
Fridge to get on line ?

Subject: help! one for the Photoshop gurus

just came across something weird with Photoshop (PS 7 on OS X)...

Normally I have my PowerBook at home and plugged in to a 21 monitor
that sits to the left (remember to the left - sounds trivial but is
important) of my PB - as this monitor is somewhat old and a bit faded
I use this for my menus etc and have the picture I'm working on
 displayed in the PowerBooks screen.

I went to a users office to do some quick photoshoping for something
they need to get to a publisher and came across a very curious
 problem.

I started the Powerbook without the second monitor (obviously) and
launched Photoshop and while the toolbars and pallets where now
located on the built in, now only, screen when ever I tried to pull
up the layer blend window or the layer effect window it was off on to
 the now non existent monitor.

I tried detect monitors but the powerbook knew there was only the
internal so it was obviously a photoshop issue.
tried Photoshop's view menu options and changing the resolution but
no mater what the lost windows would not come back.

In the end plugged in my powerbook in to the users monitor -
fortunately they had a Apple LCD so correct monitor plug and the
external monitor appeared and arrange by the system to the right of
the built in screen... but still no layer pallet until I rearranged
the external monitor in the control panel so it was logically to the
left bingo... dragged it back to the internal monitor then
unplugged the external so he could use his mac again.

just got me thinking - what if next time there isn't a spare monitor
or I don't have my apple to vga adaptor?
Just how would I get this pallet back then?

Could someone send me a screen shot of the Safari browser in action ?

2003-09-02 Thread Mark Scholmann
Hello,

As a PC user, I am looking for help from someone who could snap-shot the
Safari browser screen (on say www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au) to see what it
looks like.

If you could email them direct to me that would save the list the pain of
seeing their favourite browser over and over! :-)

Of course, if everyone sends images I will let all know to stop.

Thanks,

Mark Scholmann

Re: Thanks... for Assitance with testing a web page built on a PC (for Macintosh compatibility)...

2003-08-14 Thread Mark Scholmann
Hello,

thanks for those who spent time testing the Lotterywest web site last week,
as I requested.
The feedback has been informative and helpful. We have worked out a few
areas we can improve our web pages for Mac displays.

Within the next week, I will directly contact those who replied with
feedback, as I require assistance with one more page (which includes some
modifications based on the information provided).

So, thank you to what appears to be a very united group of computer users !

Cheers,

Assitance with testing a web page built on a PC (for Macintosh compatibility)...

2003-08-07 Thread Mark Scholmann
Hello,

I am asking for assistance from Macintosh users who can visit a page, and
inform me of any display issues they may experience.

My name is Mark Scholmann, and I am with Lotterywest (previously Lotteries
Commission). We recently re-launched our web site which worked well on
PC's, but had some serious problems with Macintosh computers. Although, we
have attempted some fixes, it appears that they do not solve all variations
of OS / Browser combinations. We do not have any Macintosh computers and
can not currently purchase or hire one.

*** Warning! I have had feedback by some Macintosh users that our pages
have crashed their computers! Please view after saving critical work.

Two current web site pages are -
1. http://www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/corporate/grantsguide/guideline.html
2. http://www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/corporate/grantsguide/guid_001.html

A current web site test page -
3.
http://www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/corporate/grantsguide/guid_001_test2.html

A newly built test page is -
4. http://www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/test_page1.html

There should be a navigation javascript operating on the left side. The
forth page is a dummy page, and even though the links may be active, they
are not intended as such.

I am looking for any comments/suggestions on how these pages appear or
react on your computer + browser + OS combination.

If you could copy and paste the client data table at the top of the 4th
test page, it may help in providing details of your set up.

Reply direct to - [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Any assistance in this matter is appreciated.

PS : I was a Mac user in another life, so really want to solve this issue!
