Calendars lost from iPad / iCloud Communication Problem
Hello All I have lost the Calendars from my iPad. We keep all our information in one Home-Shared calendar which originates on Graham's iMac and is shared by my MacBook Pro and available on his iPhone and my iPad. We both use Mountain Lion I noticed that some events did not appear on the iPad though they were on the MBP. There were also multiple entries for some repeating events, these originated from the iMac when they were in more than one Calendar but that situation was corrected by removing them from the extra calendars. These changes did not appear on the MBP so recently I deleted all the duplicates. But the deletions did not show on the iPad so I deleted the Home-Shared calendar (thinking I could retrieve it from the MBP). Now I have only the generic Calendar and Birthdays. So I turned off sync via iCloud and synced via iTunes (after exporting the info to a file just in case). The addresses of all the Calendars available were on iCloud apart from the generic Calendar which I assume is the default calendar on the MBP. My info reappeared but when I turned sync via iCloud back on it deleted the info and I am left with zilch! After I had done this I realised I had not been getting updates for a while so it a communication problem. When I checked my Safari bookmarks I found the latest ones entered on the iPad are not on the MBP. Updates still appear on the iPhone. Can anyone help please? Re: Calendars lost from iPad / iCloud Communication Problem
Hi Diana, Just a very quick reply. Make sure your iCloud Calendar is the Default Calendar Account. And any other Calendars are under iCloud on your Macs. Check out this link for help. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203521 Cheers, Ronni Sent from Ronni's iPad4 On 4 Jun 2015, at 10:04 am, Diana Graham Stevens diag...@iinet.net.au wrote: Hello All I have lost the Calendars from my iPad. Re: Calendars lost from iPad / iCloud Communication Problem
Hi Ronni The Home-Shared iCloud calendar is the default. There are four calendars on iCloud: Work, Home-Shared, Calendar and Home, only Home Shared is selected, the others have no entries. There was an extra calendar named 'Calendar' on the MBP, I have deleted it. I deleted it before but it came back, presumably when I synced with iTunes. The iPad could only see two calendars on iCloud: Calendar Birthdays (even though I had Birthdays turned off in Preferences). Since I got rid of the extra 'Calendar' on the MBP the iPad can now see the four 'real' iCloud calendars. After I turned off the 3 redundant calendars my info returned and a couple of updates arrived! I would have solved it if I had done things in the right order but when I deleted the extra Calendar before I had iCloud turned off so I could sync with iTunes. I also checked my Safari bookmarks and they have updated too, the test one I added this morning and two I added on 27 May. Why this has resolved when all I did was delete an extra calendar is a mystery. Thanks for your invaluable assistance. Incidentally I could not open the link you sent but I didn't need it!
