Re: ITUNES CRASHING

2017-11-23 Thread Julie Bedford
Hi Ronni

Thanks for your suggestion. I did do this last night and the only plug-in was
one belonging to the software upgrade I had downloaded earlier, so I trashed
it plus the software I downloaded - trying
to think of all the possible offenders. I re-started the Mac and iTunes still
crashed. My last resort was to download the latest version of iTunes (I was
only was off the latest) - and it worked ! The
only thing I can think of is some file of iTunes somehow was deleted. I am
sure I would not have done that though.

I was beginning to think that iTunes will stop working unless one upgrades to
the latest version. However, that would be a first.

I would be interested if you have any ideas, when you have the time as it is
not urgent.

Many thanks

Jewels

Hi Jewels,

To rule out if a third party plug-in or script is the cause.
Start iTunes in Safe Mode on your Mac, here is how.
Hold down the Option and Command keys on your keyboard while you launch iTunes.
iTunes will start in Safe Mode.
You will be see a pop up message saying “iTunes is running in safe mode. Visual
plug-ins you have installed have been temporarily disabled.” Click “Continue”.
If iTunes is working properly without any issue in safe mode, a third party
iTunes add-on is causing this problem. iTunes add-ons can be found in this
folder: ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/.
To find out the problematic add-on, close iTunes, and move the add-ons to your
desktop one at a time temporarily.
Cheers,
Ronni

ITUNES CRASHING

2017-11-22 Thread Julie Bedford

Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can assist.

I have a Mac Pro (mid 2012) running El Capitan - itunes was working fine until
a few days ago.
Now unable to open. I recall the same day this happened I downloaded a few
upgrades from
Ondesoft, being Itunes Converter and Audio Book Converter.

Have tried all the suggestions on the web, without success.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks
Jewels
