Scan Failure Canon MP 600
Hello Everyone, Today attempts to scan just result in the message scan failed. I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8, operating on Snow Leopard. The printer is Canon Pixma 600 and I have tried both Canon Utilities MP Navigator and using the dial on the printer. I have updated the scan drivers today. I am pretty sure we have used it successfully since updating to Snow Leopard. Looking on the internet, most of the information I found was too old or too technical for me to follow. Does anyone have any suggestions, please? Re: Scan Failure Canon MP 600
Are you using Canon Solution Menu to scan. I have a Canon MX340 and when I installed it the Solution Menu was placed in the dock. This is what I use to scan. I don't seem to be able to use the SCAN button on the printer. On 29/01/2012, at 8:40 PM, Jennifer Lefroy wrote: Hello Everyone, Today attempts to scan just result in the message scan failed. Does anyone have any suggestions, please? Try scanning from Preview: launch Preview, and choose File : Import from Scanner. Do you see the MP 600 listed as a choice? If so, choose it, which will cause the built-in Image Capture app to start. Click the Show Details button and the scanner should start. If that works, try scanning with your Canon software under a different user account. Have tried the classic first step - close down, leave for at least 30 seconds , reboot, and try again? Re: Scan Failure Canon MP 600
I tried Peter's Preview method and it worked, then MP Navigator and it worked once only (same account as I have only one), and then Preview again, but it provided only a partial image. I will have a look at others' suggestion of VueScan later today and let you know. I had already turned off for more than 30 secs and rebooted and Repaired Permissions when trying yesterday.
