Bill Can't argue with that! :-) My business requires me to stay close to the front edge of this stuff so I tend to update as soon as I can, but I must admit it also means that I stay at the front edge of the problems. Fortunately I have been fairly lucky in having been able to avoid most of them. Nevertheless, technology is changing at an extremely rapid rate these days, and Apple is often leading the charge. They are masters in the art of discarding the old in favour of the new, so it doesn't pay to stay too far behind. I'm sorry you've had these issues with some aspects of Mavericks, but all I can say is that they are outside my experience. My main niggles with Mavericks have been related to certain small bits of software which were not sufficiently developed to deal with Retina displays, such as the Colour Picker. Most if not all of these have been addressed in Yosemite, so I for one am a happy chappie. Yosemite for me has been a further step forward. Hi Bill, I see your point but consider the positive aspect of Peter’s comments. “some rough edges have been polished off”. Perhaps your issues with Mavericks may be rectified by upgrading to Yosemite ! I am just guessing but I reckon that’s what I would do in your circumstances. When I try to download a file or attach one the window is too large. I can't do anything but press enter and hope. There is no way to close or cancel. I can't re-size the window upwards to see the button. The dock is in the way. Anyone got any ideas? Re: Yosemite with chrome downloads
Hi David, The highest Safari level for 10.6.8 is the 5.1.10 that you are on. What it means is amongst other things they cannot be sure of the security aspect. As apple are no longer supporting Snow Leopard. Cheers, Ronni On 24 Oct 2014, at 2:55 pm, David Noel lis...@aoi.com.au wrote: Yes, I'm using Safari 5.1.10. David. Re: Yosemite with chrome downloads
Hello David, I too had a problem this week with bank transfers to a nominated account (RABO/Macquarie Bank) which I have been doing for many years. I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10. The transfers would not go through using Safari. I only use Safari - but tried using Firefox and the transfers went through easily. So, as I prefer using Safari, I will be spending this weekend carefully going through the WAMUG posts to be dragged kicking and screaming to upgrade from my comfortable SL to Mavericks. Yosemite is a step too far! Hope it all goes well for me. Regards Marlene Oostryck On 24/10/2014, at 2:28 PM, David Noel wrote: Sorry not an answer for Rosemary, but allied problem.
