I was surprised to see no colour change to the currently green music
note after its been two shapes of blue, as well as pink, purple and
green. The only plus I see is that the visualisers work better on my
below specification machines :)

Updated here too.
After the previous two posts I read some other reviews who complained
mainly about the missing rounded corners.
I have to say it all seems like a step in the right direction, not that
it is much of a departure anyway.
There is more real estate which suits me fine and the search
refinements are good and don't break anything already in place (unlike
spotlight!).
I too think my visualisers work better but that may be like a car
running better after a polish ;)
The appearance has gone from brushed metal to (dare I say) sandblasted
metal.
I don't miss the corners, I never used them anyway ;)
I like it.
