Eh first try without attachments as I have to find out where to upload
them.
Ok first what you see. I want to design a new unit in campaign and what
happens sometimes is what you can see in the first of my images.
All looks normal but for the extreme long yellow power bar you see in the
left list. If you close the design menu and want to produce the unit what
happens is like in the second picture, it costs some wacky amount of
power, so the unit is definitly out of it even if it shows the right
values at least in the menu. What makes it hard to describe is that it
seems to have a random behaviour in many aspects.
If I close the design menu and reopen it again it may look exactly the
same as before (like now when i wanted to make a screenshot of how it
doesn't). Most of the time though, at least until now, it shows some
absurd values for power and for body points both, instead of the normal
values it showed in the designing session. I see no systematic here
though, like the next screenshots with the same unit and method show.
It's from the same save game loaded again and again. If I do not reload
the values are the same for each unit (but still different in small ways
for different units), so it looks like the broken formula actually breaks
in a certain way while loading. If reloaded often enough it is possible to
encounter the same values again, so it isn't totally random.
When does it happen? It campaign only and there as if by chance. I tried a
fast game and didn't encounter it in those first missions you can play
fast. In my first one it hit me with the heavy machine gun after I
designed the repair truck without problems. In the third one I tried it
threw me with the repair truck. All in all I am relativly sure it occurs
while either loading or saving a game, so if you could play campaign
without loading it won't happen. If you load and play it might actually be
already in there and you notice it only by designing a unit, then it
shows. So its a process that corrupts savegames, even if you don't notice
it right away.
Now to those saves, which are a bit more freaky. I made 3 of them to show
typical behaviour, while those of them I can actually reload show a
different behaviour each and every time. So I am not so sure about what
you might actually see in those saves.
The first one is called reload because this is what you can do, I am
able to load it and get the bug in all possible ways each time. The reason
I can do this is that I have deleted all buggy units from my design list.
The 3 units in there I can build like normal and the repair truck was
designed earlier without encountering the bug. Here I tried or try to
design a Twin Machine Gun Viper Wheels, and my first Screen shows it needs
70 power and has 255 body points. Actually producing it costs around a
billion in power. At least in one game. Reloading this savegame like I did
in the other screens it shows all kinds of values for power and body
points like in the other screens and costs anything from millions to
billions. I don't now if it is systematic but it kinda looks like the
price for producing it is highest of the power and body point values shown
in the design menu are lowest. Another thing here: in those saves I
encounter strange bugs like a voice saying ally detected (or any other
phrase) each time I open a menu). This happened twice, I made a save of
the ally detected thing but it doesn't stay after I reload it.
If I do not delete buggy units and try to save I am back to desktop and if
I try to load this failed attempt in saving the game just throws me back
to main menu after some seconds. This is the same for all the other saves
too. I made a save like that called reloadwithbug.
The second save I called BuginHiding. Here after reloading the reload save
one in perhaps ten times I can design and produce units, so everything
looks normal. As soon as I want to save this though or end a mission I am
back to desktop. If I try to load it the game just returns to the main
menu after some seconds. So I don't actually now how unbroken this save
is.
The third save is exactly like the second with one difference: I can
design and start producing a normal looking unit, but after spending the
power (green bar) the unit actually never starts being produced, the
factory just freezes without any
