Official Verification

2006-01-20 Thread Dan Goodwin
North Carolina recently passed a law concerning how doctors' offices can
bill for pathology services. The NC Medical Board has responsibility for
notifying physicians of the new law. So far, only speciality associations
such as the dematologists have said anything about the law, nothing from the
Medical Board. Do what you want, but as for me, I'm going to wait for the
official verification.

Funniest Non-Barney Episode

2006-01-20 Thread jworsham
Doug Johnson wrote Which black and white episode that did not feature Barney
would everyone consider the funniest?

That's easy. It's got to be Floyd, the Gay Deceiver. It's the only episode
that features Mayberry's second funniest guy as the main character. Just
thinking about Floyd going on and on about running off to Nashville just cracks
me up!

Floyd Lawson, you're a miserable wretch!!!

TAGS Map of Fans

I created a somewhat interactive TAGS map where we can all post our
locations as well as a little more info about ourselves to get to know
each other better:

RE: Dillards and others

Another one to get is the Hee Haw Gospel Quartet
Now you want some of the best southern gospel music done Mayberry style, get
any of these.

I think there's 2-3 albums put out.

Weavers should be carrying these if they ain't.

RE: Should be required watching for all cops (Duane Malcolm)

My five year old son and I love to watch TAGS together. Of course, I'm
zeroing in on how it's better to do the right thing - so happy to know
he's watching Andy demonstrate a good, decent example of how to treat
people. But that comes to a shattering halt when I hear my son say,
The more you talking, the more I'm balking. Hee hee hee hee hee
heeOh Ernest T., my five year old relates well with thee!
However, it's absolutely priceless!

...there goes a nut!

Funniest Episode

2006-01-20 Thread DAR
One of my all time favorite funny episodes is Man in a
Hurry. Wally and the front porch scene, listening to
the 2 old ladies on the phone (This is the 20th
century!) But the funniest is the scene on the porch
when Barney is discussing what he is going to do and
Mr. Tucker loses his cool and says, DO IT! JUST DO
IT! Take a nap, go to Thelma Lou's. Watch TV. JUST DO
IT!
That cracks me up all the time because you can just
imagine him listening to Barney and all of his talk
just festering inside until he finally blows.

Funniest Episodes, To Barney or Not to Barney

2006-01-20 Thread Doug Johnson

I have always thought that Convicts at Large was the single funniest
episode of TAGS ever produced. Another one that I have always thought is
underrated in terms of sheer laughs is The Big House. The interaction
between Barney and Gomer is great. Barney's Here at the Rock speech is
hilarious and Gomer and the shotgun is great stuff. I have a question that
Paul or someone else may be able to answer. Why are there so many bw
episodes that Barney did not appear in. Did his contract specify only so
many shows or was he purposely written out of some shows to give other
characters a chance to shine? I have always wondered about this. And that
leads to my next question: Which black and white episode that did not
feature Barney would everyone consider the funniest? I guess my favorite is
Family Visit. One of my favorite episodes overall.

Funniest . . . .

2006-01-20 Thread Maurine Taylor
Episode: Goober and the Art of Love

Line: (which happens to be from Goober and the Art of Love)
  Andy: Goober, your hair's drippin'.

Most enduring image: The look on Barney's face when he turns around to see
Andy wearing his helmet. The boy's gonna explode.

Color episode: Aunt Bee, the Swinger. You had to have color to appreciate
how Aunt Bee looked all tarted up.

But these could be different tomorrow.
