Re: The Bus
I am not 100 % possitive but I think the Bus Bobby Fleet used was a Checker. This Comapany also made taxi cabs used in NY for years. Any other suggestions ? Moonshine Runner in NC. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Oh, that David Browning!
This may be a smidge off topic but I have to mention a friend of all of ours.? That wonderful fellow that happily reminds us of our favorite deputy was up here in our neck of the woods at Jane Lew, WV, and I missed him!? From the folks I heard from he was in fine form and made a lot of new fans for himself and the show.? Elenora Poultice would be proud!?? There was a great picture of him in the 'Weston Democrat' as well as a very positive review by the editor. Mr. Browning, you would be more than welcome here anytime and maybe we can get the bandstand in shape and get a concert together.? Consider yourself family.? Thank you so much for visiting and God bless you!? You're a treasure. theme song key, continued
Curiouser and curiouser! The sheet music I have is hand-written, in pencil, by Earle Hagen's very own hand, and it's in the key of B flat! He very kindly did this for me in 1998, and I have it framed with a picture and Andy and Opie with their fishing poles, and it's proudly displayed above my old upright piano. But that's not the key used on The Show, at least not during the credits. Maybe there's some episode with the theme playing in the background in B flat, I've never checked. And as I said earlier, the correct original title is "The Andy Griffith Theme." Is it not "The Andy Griffith Show Theme" as some seem to think. The version with lyrics (penned later, by Everett "Jubal Jubal Jubal" Sloane) is entitled "The Fishin' Hole." Paul Mulik >>>I don't have the answer either for the different keys for the theme song, >>>but to make it more confusing, I have the theme song script signed by Earl >>>Hagen and it is in the key of F. I got it autographed by him at Mayberry >>>Days a few years ago. Maybe after he wrote it in that key he found out that >>>he couldn't whistle it in that key and he is the one who whistled it for the >>>actual recording of the song. pets and un-seen scenes
Also Mr Frisby gave his Rooster Beau to Opie. I'll bet Andy made Opie give it back to him, along with the mustache cup. There are some un-seen scenes that are so hilarious hearing about, I wonder if they'd be as fun to watch. However, I'd be willing to see Otis punching Floyd in the nose. Lamar Tuttle punching Otis, Goober punching Gilley, and for sure whoever punched Betty Ann. Come to think of it, somehow we never did get to see actually fists flying - just the sound of a smack and Barney and Andy's shocked expressions! RE: Fly killin'
>...Barney sits on Andy's porch and catches a fly in his hands, and then he lets it go while saying, "Well, it's Sunday."... - Sometimes it's unintentional. Remember the fly in the courthouse they tried to shoo away, but he'd gone to his great reward via Aunt Bee's kerosene cucumbers. Karen Burgess
In this morning's paper is a picture of Karen Burgess, campus president of Brown Mackie College. I guess Karen went into education after she and Opie broke up. dan ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Ron Howard to appear at Hollywood Show?
There's going to be a "One Time Only" Happy Days cast reunion at Burbank, California's "Hollywood Show" July 18 & 19. Although Ron Howard is not officially listed as a guest, all the rest of the cast will be there and the website does say there will be a "special surprise guest." Will this be Ron? At the March show, they had a "Back To The Future" cast reunion and the special surprise guest was Michael J. Fox. Ron's dad, Rance, and brother Clint have both attended the Hollywood Show in the past. Now, I'm not saying anything, but... http://www.hollywoodshow.com/ ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Why don't you ask Floyd to look at 'em? He's a barber. ? Paul Mulik ? >>>?As a photographer, I notice things like light sources and reflections.? I've never seen any reflections off Floyd's glasses, so that would seem to indicate that they are empty frames.? However, the other day as we were watching "The Bank Job," I noticed reflections in Asa's glasses, so they are obviously real. -- ** ~ Visit our sponsor ~ Weaver's Department Store ~ http://www.WeaversDepartmentStore.com/ ** You must send your comments to the Digest from the address you used to join WBMUTBB or your message will not be posted.
