One time Aunt Bee called Andy, Marshall Dillon and asked where's Chester? I'm surprised she didn't call Barney that, but she was under the influence of elixir at the time. Kim - TX ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

RE: Pallidan theme lyrics
Have gun will travel reads the card of a man, A knight without armor in a savage land. The rest goes. His fast gun for hire was his calling card, A soldier of fortune was the man called Pallidan, Pallidan, Pallidan, where do you roam? Pallidan, Pallidan, far, far from home. My favorite was Bret Maverick, and when Clint Eastwood made his one episode appearance he called him Mav-er-rack. The first album I bought by saving up my allowance was the theme music to most of the TV Westerns at that time. I bought two albums of western theme show. I still have the albums, scratches and all, and if anyone here can convert LPs to CDs I'd entertain sending them for a copy for myself. More Trivia
Several times Andy and Barney harmonized on a song. There was even one song they were singing together that Andy misidentified. Barney asked Andy what the name of the song was and Andy said Sinners lose all their guilty stains. The name of the song is actually There Is A Fountain. But back to the question, as far as I have been able to ascertain, there was only one song Andy and Barney sang together in two different shows. I will give you a small hint. One of the shows was in black and white, and the other was in color. The song was not a well known song. Orville Hendricks - Peddling Butter and Eggs. I sing to Martha all the time. Usually I sing The Old Grey Mare She Aint What She Used To Be. Right after that I sleep on the couch. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

So here is the question, what is the haracter's name from which CBS show that Aunt Bee mentions in one episode. I ill give you a small clue, at the time Aunt Bee mentions the character's name, he character's show was shown on Saturday nights. Didn't Aunt Bee refer to Andy as Sheriff Matt Dillon or Marshall Dillon once? Was it in the episode where the ladies aid society all got crocked? Re: Locked bumpers...
yes, was a bit common back in those days. whenever you would need to push or be pushed, you would want to make sure the bumpers matched up evenly. if they didn't, there was a good chance one would slip up or down and hence lock up! i remember though, that it seemd to work quite well, if one of the cars had the driver trying to go forwards (or backward) at the right moment to actually unlock them while being bounced on... tom PEACE is Patriotic ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
hi y'all
I have been kind of away but not really. Busy is all. I seem to remember Aunt Bee mentioning Marshall Dillon and I know Gunsmoke was on CBS on Saturday nights.? We used to go to my aunt's house on a lot of Saturday's and we would eat dinner and watch Have Gun Will Travel, Perry Mason and Gunsmoke.? I also remember Gunsmoke Once when my parents got the bright idea that we would all have horses or ponies (for us children), and we went riding and stopped at a little cabin and they had a little tv set there - We had to watch Gunsmoke in the cabin, because my parents could not miss it! Then we were able to ride home! Does anyone remember him wearing glasses in any other episodes? ha ha not really but I remember that fellow who was going to be foreclosed had to wear glasses to read and his wife could not read to him because of all that ironing - all those cotton fabrics. ha ha ! under the influence of elixir! titanium bumpers! The titanium reminds of my older son reading the properties of various metals or something when in high school and just went on about how strong titanium is! Good to be back Aunt Bee in Illinois -- Then the Lord said to me, 'You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.' Carnivals and Mayberry
Several weeks ago I watched the two episodes which featured the carnival coming to Mayberry. It brought back wonderful memories of my childhood and the fun I had at carnivals. It reminded me that when I was in high school I had the opportunity to work for a carnival for a summer. However, my mother did not allow me to go, so alas I missed out on that experience. The carnival I wanted to work at was owned by the family of a high school friend of mine who I grew up with. His family originated in Germany and owned the Skerbeck circus and then brought the circus to American in the late eighteen hundreds. My friend is now the owner of the Skerbeck Amusements which is based in Escanaba Michigan. I have not seen my friend Joe for 46 years so these Mayberry episodes motivated me to try to locate him. It was actually very simple. I did a search on the web for Skerbeck Amusements and found he was still based in Escanaba. It just so happened that we were going to be going through Escanaba on our way to a family reunion. So I left a message on the Skerbeck website saying I would love to be able to see Joe again if he was going to be in Escanaba that weekend. Well, to make a long story even longer, I received a message back giving me his cell phone number. So last weekend I called Joe and we stopped in to see him. I was surprised to find that his wife was the cute little blonde girl who lived down the street from me all during my childhood. We had a wonderful visit. Next year he will be back in Escanaba for the State Fair on the weekend we will be going through again, so we are planning on taking an extra day so we can spend a day at the Fair. Joe said he would take us all around and show us his operation. It is not your typical carnival atmosphere. Joe is a devout Christian and he instills his Christian and small town values into all he does and that carries onto his employees. I keep marveling at all the wonderful things that have come about in my life just because of tags. Lots of luck to you and yours.
