Dewey's Warning
Good old Dewey Lamb is always looking out for us. I got an email from him warning me about doing too many parades and presentations. He said I would have to watch out for the paparazzi. Now that doesn't worry me a bit. I love Italian food. I think Dewey must have Extra Sensitive Complexion or something like Warren has. I wonder if his dog can find a lollipop. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Another Great Parade
We had yet another fantastic experience at a very large parade in a small rural community. There were over 80 entries from all over Wisconsin and Minnesota and thousands of people got reacquainted with Mayberry. The kids are so special. Seeing Barney took karate lessons I had a young boy from Karate America give me several quick lessons. We got a couple of great pictures of that. All along the parade route little kids would come out to shake my hand or even hug me. One little boy about four ran out to me and wrapped his little arms around me and said, "You're a cool cop." I was able to give the District Attorney a citation for a safety hazard. He had no top on his car. I also ticketed one of the Zor Tin Lizzies for having no seat belts and too much horsepower. Just a lot of wonderful Americana summer fun. It is why I love the people in small communities. They may not be sophisticated but they know how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. One of the great things is how it can bring people together. As you may well know, Wisconsin is in the middle of a very contentious Recall Election on Tuesday, but politicians from both sides walked in the parade and were treated with respect by everyone. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Yep, since Barney carried only one "bullet," it's a VERY minor issue. I'm guessing they were empty anyway, so it doesn't matter if they were wrong side up or right side down ... or whatever. Andy's Birthday and Mayberry Guru
Happy birthday Andy, thanks for all the memories we have had and will have. Ken it is absolutely terrific that you can share Mayberry with so many. It has even brought lost friends back! Yes the bullets case should point downward. But it is a minor issue that does not detract from enjoying time with Barney. Besides, not only did Barney have a sensitive trigger he was probably famous for dropping bullets and Andy would have insisted on Barney wearing then up. Speed loaders, a cylinder with 6 slots and a spring where you line the bullets with the cylinder of the pistol, would have been a preferable choice for Barney in case he was ever pinned down in a shootout.
