Mayberry stars in Missouri Saturday
Hi folks, Marshfield, Missouri has an event this coming weekend called the Cherry Blossom Festival. On Saturday morning there's a panel called Memories of Mayberry, and I have been asked to serve as moderator. I told them up front that while I do know a lot about The Andy Griffith Show, I don't know the first thing about being a moderator, so we'll see how it goes. It might be a gas at that. Anyway, the guests this year are Morgan Brittany, who is best known for her long-running role on Dallas, but as a child star she appeared on many shows of the 1960s including one episode of TAGS, Opie's First Love. In those days she was known as Suzanne Cupito. The other guest this year is Maggie Peterson, who of course played Charlene Darling-Wash. They usually try to get stars who have a connection to Missouri; guests from past years have included Rodney Dillard and Betty Lynn (both of whom are originally from Missouri). The main focus will be an audience QA session, so if anybody has any questions they'd like to ask either Morgan or Maggie, speak right up and I'll try to work those in. If anybody is within driving distance of Marshfield, MO, please consider coming to this event. There are all sorts of other activities too, such as a dinner with special guest Laura Bush and her two daughters, and a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Gone with the Wind featuring people involved with the making of the film. Fireflies
When Otis came in drunk in one episode, he said fireflies knocked him down and I believe the other town your looking for is Siler City. Have a great day. Harvey Indian Elixir Price ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Bugs in Mayberry
Hey all, So many bugs in Mayberry have already been mentioned, but wasn't the love-bug mentioned at one time too? It seems to me that it was, but if it wasn't, it should have been, what with that duck pond being so near and handy. Also Opie once caught a fly while sitting in a church service. Course, his Pa reprimanded him for it, but he did have that poor fly clutched tightly in his little fist! RE: Bats and Moths
There were bats in the cave that could got in your hair, not moths. Moths are very annoying though! I guess I was only thinking of Thelma Lou's response to the bat statement by Barney. She says Oh Barney, it's just a moth. And he replies that the same thing can happen with moths. Harriet, the chicken thief, hiding out in Kelsey's Woods, USA Johnny Paul Jason says chewing tar is good for the teeth..That's an old wives taleJohnny Paul ain't married. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
RE: WBMUTBB Digest, Vol 15, Issue 121 - Bugs
Didn't Aunt Bee go help out a friend who wrenched her back when she spilled grease behind the stove and tried to move it to clean it up for fear it would attract ants? **Barn (the original) Ron McLendon ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
ANOTHER BUG
Didn't Gomer think that being bitten by the 'green eyed monster' meant you were bitten by a bug? Roy Stoner ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Mayberry stars in Missouri Saturday
Paul, when was the Cherry Blossom Festival and exactly where in Marshfield? I live in Springfield and I can get to Marshfield with no problem but once there I'm not sure which direction to head. Oh, and by the way, you might look to Floyd for wisdom on how to be a moderator, eh? :) Oh and on an unrelated note about towns actually shown in TAGS...I am just shootin' in the dark at this point: Siler City??? Bugs
Didn't Otis and Barney argue over the ink blot test as depicting a bat or a butterfly? Does that count as a bug? Once in a while I like to see bats! Rebecca Spears/Lydia ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Bugs
And when Gomer took Thelma Lou in his truck, Barney was said by Andy to have been bitten by the green eyed monster, to which Gomer thinks is a bug and tells him that the drug store has some medicine for that. Is that one you were thinking of as well? Rebecca Spears/ Lydia ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
